-Flashback to a few months after you and Barbara marry-
Sitting at your home, you let out a smile. Even though it was months ago, sometimes you look over at Barbara, see her wedding ring and then smile all over again. You're married to Barbara Julie Dunkelman. Remembering everything that happened to you over the years that brought her to you is just amazing. That joy that the two of you are married never goes away. And, you know she sometimes takes glances at you and your wedding ring, and remembers the same thing.
" Hey, Barbara," she looks over at you, and smiles. " Are we gonna go to the Roosterteeth party? Burnie wanted to celebrate something with Red vs Blue. I never watched that show, but then I do always love the Roosterteeth parties."
She looks at you super confused. " You've never seen Red Vs Blue? ( y/n), you have missed out on so many years of living and quality content. I need to show you that show sometime. My brothers showed it to me when I was growing up, and I loved it. I even got to write an episode for it one time."
You nod. " Well, yeah. You did tell me that you wrote an episode for it. But, I don't know. I never played Halo either, so I feel like I wouldn't be able to enjoy it as much as you did." Her eyes widen, and she looks at you with a concerned confusion, and also a small glare of amusement. " Okay fine. We'll watch Red vs Blue, and then get the Halo video game."
This makes her nod. " And yeah, we can go to the Roosterteeth office party. I need you to do all the drinking for the both of us though." You look at her confused, and she just holds up a hand. " Just trust me okay?"
Nodding again, you go back to reading. You trust Barbara completely, and besides this just means she can drive you home when you get absolutely hammered. Smiling at her, you see her stand up, and come back with a laptop. " But, we can only go when you've seen Red vs Blue." Rolling your eyes, you make some popcorn and then sit down with your wife.
-Hours Later-
" Wow," you say, as she closes the laptop. " I can't believe I let myself go this many years without watching Red vs Blue. How did I close myself off to this? I need to find Burnie, and thank him for making this amazing show."
She laughs at you, and then stands up. " Well come on. We can go and thank him at this party. Although, he might get on your case for having not watched it until now. Oh well though. I'll drive. And since you aren't drinking there, I'll drive on the way back."
Still confused as to why she isn't drinking, you just give a shrug and then get in the car with her. She drives you to the party, and then the two of you hop out. Offering her hand, you take it and then walk in with her. Smiling at the people that greet you, the two of you find Burnie. " Burnie. I'm ashamed to admit it, but until today I had never seen Red vs Blue. My wife, Barbara made me see it today, and then it was amazing."
He looks at you confused, and then rags on you for awhile about having not seen it until today. After awhile, Barbara comes over and hands you two drinks. You drink the both of them, and then this process repeats all night. Eventually, you black out.
-Barbara Pov-
I smile when (y/n) passes out. I sit down in a chair, and then place his head in my lap. Stroking his hair, I talk with some friends from the office. I know he might be confused, and in the morning, he will have a raging hangover. Also, he'll probably throw up also. But, when I reveal the reason for why I can't drink tonight, I know it will make his day.
Driving him home, I smile as he dozes off in the car. He mutters somethings in his sleep, and I can't make it all out. The only words I can make out are ' Hokage', 'Bonds,' and ' coming back to the village.' Even after all these years, I can't help but adore his little drunken rambles. and, drunk him in general is adorable.
Placing him into the bed, I climb in with him. " Cuddle me Barb," he mutters, on the verge of passing out for real. Smiling, I start to spoon him, and the warmth he radiates puts me to sleep right away. In the morning, I see him hurling his guts out into a trash can. When he finishes it, he gets up, and almost falls right over. Getting up, I help him walk to the bathroom before throwing the trashcan away.
When he comes out, he looks like he's about to pass out again, so I give him one of our miracle hangover cures. He instantly perks up, and then turns to me. " So, uh. Why didn't you wanna drink last night?"
I give him a large smile, and then reach into my purse, and pull out a positive pregnancy test. " I wasn't certain, but I had suspicions. Last night when we went to the party. I went to make sure. And yeah, I'm pregnant!"
His eyes widen, and he pulls me into a bone-crushing hug. " Oh my god," he says, on the verge of happy tears. " I'm going to be a father. And you're going to be the best mother ever! And Ally's going to be an aunt! Oh my god, this is so awesome!"
Pulling away, he gives one of the biggest smiles of his life. " We have to call Ally," he says, getting more and more excited. " Or Arryn, or your parents, or your brothers. Oh my god, we just need to take about this with someone!"
-Present Day-
" That was a great day for the both of us Sophie," I tell her. " It isn't everyday you find out you're going to bring another life into this world with the one you love more than anyone else."
( i apologize for inactivity. honestly, writer's block is setting in hard. let me know what you thought. when this gets updates, it will be about them getting ready to raise Sophie)
