A few hours already passed when Claire finally got home and settled in.
As it turned out, it wasn't too hard to find her way to the new house. She found a taxi as soon as she left the airport. The driver was really nice and kind - he spoke english with her (even though she could speak Korean, too, thanks to the classes she took before) and helped her get her stuff inside. She felt really shy at the beginning, completely in her own world, a bit worried but filled with excitment...
When she first saw her new house, she thought to herself, I don't remember it was this big when I saw it at the agency office... But as soon as she stepped in, her opinion changed. The house was just right for her - neither too big nor too small. The walls were white and the floor was made of dark brown wood. She liked it very much. There wasn't much furniture, of course - she only made sure to have a bed, chair, table and a functioning kitchen when she gets to Korea. It was all part of her contract with the agency. There was a nice lady monitoring the work around her house for the past few days. The kitchen consisted of a simple fridge, few shelves, oven, stove and other necessary things. It was pretty aesthetic - everything was in shades of blue. The house had multiple other rooms. The empty living room, dining room with a table, a bedroom with a bed and a toilet. There was also a little room for storage. She didn't have time to look around thoroughly. She checked the garden and a little garage. The garden only had a pathway and a wooden bench, there was also little grass and a tree or two. In the garage she found her car, also driven and transported by her agency. She was very pleased by her home.
The time difference made her confused and she was very tired because of the long journey. It was late evening back in California, but here in Korea, it was early afternoon. She decided to unpack her things and ate the rest of the sandwiches she had left. Time flew by and she fell asleep peacefully until the morning.

"Yes, mum, I did everything you asked me to", she said slightly annoyed, talking to her mother over the phone. She was eating some ramen noodles that she ordered earlier that morning. She was very proud of herself since she found the restorant on the internet and successfully spoke fluent Korean with the lady over the phone. She was eating with chopsticks, which she learned how to do back home as well.
"I'm not sure what I'm going to do now... I think I might drive to the city centre and buy some furniture... And then I can go to work in the afternoon. They said I can take as much time as I need to settle in."
She took some more noodles. "I gotta go now, mom, call you later..."
She hung up and swallowed the last piece of her noodles. She stood up and quickly dressed up for going out.
She was soon driving in her car, awkwardly bending over the steering wheel, trying to look at the map of Seoul. It took her a while to even find her own house on the map. She wore skinny jeans, which were pretty uncomfortable and made her curse underneath her breath a lot. Her shirt was sleeveless and swaying around, her hair tied in a messy long braid. She wore flats since she had to walk around a lot.
The environment looked just like those pictures on the Internet. There wasn't much traffic - everyone was already at work. After turning a few wrong directions, she finally saw tall, crystal skyscrapers and sparkling signs. It was definitely more crowded and the traffic became worse, but she made it; she was in the city centre of Seoul.
She smiled seeing all the busses and signs about KPOP idols around the town. A Jungkook-themed bus passed right next to her. The whole city looked cheerful and full of colors: city life was on its climax.
In the next half an hour Claire was already parked and wandered around the huge shopping centre building. Although she was looking for furniture, she couldn't help looking at shopwindows full of fashionable clothes. She bought a couple of t-shirts that made her feel like a part of the Korean society. She often saw these types of clothes on famous Korean idols, but apparently young people wore them around the city, too.
When she was satisfied with her mini shopping, she went straight to the furniture part of the shopping centre. This was something she especially enjoyed as a designer. If she didn't choose graphic design, she would most certainly be a designer of interiors.
