Chapter 22 – Lost In Thought
Luke's POV
I had rushed out to get the pizza, not because I didn't trust Mollie and Daniel alone, but I mean, I guess I kind of didn't trust them alone. Mollie is fragile and Daniel, well he's not a player but he's all heart on his sleeve and doesn't really think these things through.
Also, that's my little sister of 16 and my best mate, it just wouldn't be right!
I burst through the front door, kicking my shoes to the side and running upstairs,
"I got chicken feast, pepperoni and plain cheese guys," the minute I stepped through the door they jumped back from each other, "Everything alright?"
"Yeah!" They both answer in unison, and all a little fast, as I try to convince myself I'm over thinking this, I just become more suspicious.
"Anything happen while I was gone?" I joke, giving a little chuckle.
"Fuck sake Luke! She's your sister I wouldn't ever dare mate, what sort of person do you think I am?" Daniel snaps.
Mollie's POV
I turn to glare at Daniel after his little outburst.
Great Daniel that's real subtle! I think to myself.
I look up at Luke, confusion strewn across his face, I smile the most innocent smile I can muster,
"Can I have chicken feast Lukey?"
I know he's not fully convinced but none the less he smiled.
"Of course, you can cutie," I watch as he turns to Daniel, "What about you bro? Pepperoni or cheese?"
Daniel pulls his head from his hands, "I didn't mean to snap man, I'm just tired and don't like the thought that you were worried about me being with Moll alone, but I'll take the pepperoni please mate, gotta get that protein!"
We all laughed at that.
We didn't mention that little issue again for the rest of the evening, we sat and ate pizza, laughed, played FIFA and listened to some music.
I hadn't had such a carefree evening in so long, and with everything of recent I really did need it. These boys were some of the best people to walk into my life, I couldn't ask for anywhere else to be home.
Daniel and I shared glances, some filled with regret, others more lust, I didn't know how to feel about him or the situation at all.
One minute he wants to keep going and is behind the whole thing, and the next he's telling Luke he wouldn't dare, I get why he said what he did but how am I to know he isn't just looking for something else? I've been here before.
Dirty pictures, flirty texts and then at the end of the night I'm still alone in my bed, feeling depressed as hell and like I'm only good for one thing.
Don't get me wrong I doubt Daniel is like that but then I didn't see it coming any other time either.
I'm pulled from my thoughts when I hear the front door open.
I turn around and Daniel and Luke are stood by the door, Daniel with his shoes and his beanie all in place and his backpack on.
"Cheers for the pizza mate! I'm sure you'll win a game soon, don't be so sulky," I hear Daniel laugh as he teases Luke.
I run over quickly, "Oi! Were you even going to say bye?" I joke.
"I did try but you were a million miles away, day dreamer,"
I blushed and looked down, feeling quite embarrassed,
"Someone's got a crush!" Luke sang.
I thump him with all my sleepy strength and he just shrugs me off.
"Well, this evening has been an ultimate pleasure, but I must dash gotta be up early for the gym tomorrow," I lose track listening to Daniel as he says his goodbye's. Fuck, his smile is so gorgeous and his laugh, the way he bites his lip...
Daniel's POV:
"So yeah man, I'll probably see you-"
I'm cut off talking when out of know where, looking away with the fairies again, Mollie suddenly just comes out with, "Bites his lip."
I turn to Luke and he looks as confused as me.
"What the fuck Mollie?" Luke breaks out in laughter and I laugh with him.
"What? Why are you laughing?" Mollie frantically question looking from me to Luke with no response.
"You're both dicks," she huffs and wonders off to the kitchen.
Luke and I finally bring ourselves from the hysteric giggles,
"Right bro, catch you later," I say already walking away.
Luke waves and shuts the door, still trying to catch his breath.
As I walk down the road, kicking the ground slightly as I go and swinging my arm back and forth I can't help but think of Mollie.
I know it's bad and I shouldn't even think about her like this, but she's so beautiful, and sweet. After everything recently and she still lit up the room with her smile. She has all of us in the palm of her hand and that doesn't scare me.
I'm nearly home and this is when I start to overthink, what if she thinks I was serious about not wanting to go near her like that? What if she hates me? My thoughts race around my mind and butterflies burst through my stomach.
I'll message Luke or maybe even Jai, one of them will find out, and I can make it look normal, I tell myself, eager to calm down.
Eventually I get home and throw my stuff down, going straight to the fridge. I grab a few snacks and bottle of drink and go down the hall.
I fall onto my bed, still only one thing on my mind.
Mollie.
A/N – I'm back! This is just a little chapter for me to test the water again, if you like. I haven't written anything in so long, I've been struggling with a few personal issues but thought maybe getting back into the swing of writing something would help. This is basically just seeing if I get a response and if so what response, and to see whether to keep going with this or possibly start another. I hope you all understand, and I do apologise for having you wait this long for something so shit ahaha. Please give me some feedback, let me know what you all want to hear!
Also, I'd like to add that yes Mollie did start out as 14, then at some point changed to 15 but for what I intend to have happen and my plans for the book I would like her to be of age.
Happy Reading as always!
