Chapter 15 - Sometimes

Mollie’s POV:

I ran, changing direction at every sign post.

I had to get there before anyone noticed.

I was running through the town.

Buzzing with life whilst I was emanating death.

I could hear the trains, but the voices were screaming louder.

Nobody can save me now.

Turning into the station, I walked to a platform 1, a train was due here in 15 minutes.

Enough time to say silent goodbye’s.

Beau’s POV:

Driving to the train station with only bad thoughts to think, we sat in a hollow silence.

My only hope is that we get there in time.

I pulled the car over to a parking space and we were all out the car so fast it would make your head spin.

We all ran separate directions, Luke heading for platform 3, Jai to platform two and me to platform 1.

I was madly rushing through the crowds pushing past people who cursed as I searched for my sister.

A train was due here in 15 minutes.

That was when I saw her, shaking madly as she stood by the platform edge.

“Mollie!” I yelled and started moving towards her.

She turned around and looked at me, her eyes lifeless and dry with no more tears left to cry.

“Come away from there, now!” I told her, I was a small distance away from her, I didn’t want to get to close.

“No, Beau, just leave, you don’t need me,” She replied.

“Mollie, I honestly promise you that we can sort this out, don’t jump, you have so much mo-”

She cut me off.

“Beau, I’ve heard it too many times. Things never get better or easier to deal with. Just listen to me.

Sometimes things that are so broken they have to be thrown away.

Sometimes you have to take things into your own hands and decide your own destiny.

Sometimes I don’t feel anything, sometimes I wish I did but sometimes it makes everything easier to deal with.

Sometimes the storm never passes.

I’m so sorry but Beau I promise I’ll always be here, but you need to let me go.

You can’t get attached to something that crumbles every time you touch it.

I haven’t had an easy life, and things only get harder.

I lost my sister.

I lost myself.

If I stay it means I’ll have to lose you too, and Gina and Jai and Luke.

You don’t understand Beau.

Sometimes the light at the end of the tunnel is just an oncoming train.”

She stood perfectly still before me, entirely prepared with what she was about to do, and I was shaking for the both of us.

For the first time ever I was speechless.

I knew nothing I said would make her step away.

I could fall to my knees crying and begging her to step away but she’d still jump.

Her sorry eyes stared into mine and they spoke her loving goodbye for her.

The train coming began to shake the ground and she looked at it.

Getting closer and closer.

I broke down and fell to the ground.

In that moment everything seemed to happen so fast...
