It was a Monday morning I had just woken up and I opened my phone to check my notifications on Instagram
I was scrolling threw my fee when I stopped at this video it was Shawn mendes sitting on a couch with a black shirt and denim jacket I pressed play on the screen
"Hey you guys I'm here to announce that I holding auditions in NYC on the 13th to release a song with the winner see you there" Shawn said the video then stopped and it stopped right when Shawn was smiling at the camera his smile could melt hearts
I was more than exited and it was right here in the area I jumped right off of bed
"MOOOOOMMM"I yelled while running threw the hallway
"I'm right here no need to scream!" She said
I stopped in the kitchen where she was "m-om sh-awn men-des is" I say while trying to catch my breath
"Woah darling slow down breathe first" my mom said
I cached my breath "mom Shawn mendes is holding auditions here in New York and who ever wins gets to release a song with him!!!" I say
My mom then turns back around and she is finishing what she's doing "when is this audition?" My mom asks
"The 13th of this month" I say while sitting down on the island counter
"Hmmm let me think what do we do the 13th" she says while checking the magnet calendar on our fridge
"Oh no can do darling me and your father are going to Acapulco for our vacation this month it's all your father can talk about" she says while preparing me a bowl of cereal
"But mooooommm" I say
"No buts you have you watch your younger brother" she says while pushing the bowl of cereal my way
I sit there trying so hard not to cry "whatever" I say eating my cereal
"Come on and hurry your gonna be late for school" she says
"The least you can do is let me enjoy my cereal you already crushed my dreams" I murmured
"Is that sass I'm hearing" she says raising and eyebrow at me
"No it's the truth"I say
She then walks away
"The guilt will get to her eventually" I think
"Hurry up and eat" she yells
I get up and put my bowl in the sink and run to my room I change into a pretty grey shirt with little holes in it and I wrap a red flannel on my waste and I put on some skinny jeans and some white converse I comb my hair and leave it lose
I hear a honk outside
"Mom I leaving!!!" I yell
"Ok honey have a good day" she yells back
I run and get into my friend Austin's car
"Have you herd" I tell him while I close the passengers seat door
"Duh I've herd it's all over the radio" he says while pulling out of the drive way
"All over the radio?" I ask
He then turns up the radio and Shawns voice comes out and says the same thing as the video
"I'm thinking about auditioning" I say
He then stops the car my head jerks forward and then jerks back
"Your voice is like honey you have to audition!!" he yells
"But I can't I have to watch the little demon on the same day as auditions" I say
He continues driving I can see the school emerge out of the trees
"Then sneak out" he says wiggling his eye brows
"But then who's gonna watch the little demon?" I say
He shrugs his shoulders "take him with you" he says
My jaw drops "that is the worst idea you've had in this whole car ride" I say
He parks the car in the student parking lot
"Listen this is a once and a lifetime chance opportunity and its with your favorite singer in the whole world you have to go you've got this in the bag" he says
I open the passenger door and get out I think about what Austin told me he's right plus
There's nothing holding me back
