Chapter 16

Melody's POV

I woke up to very familiar surroundings I sat up and realize that I was in one of the bedrooms of the inspiration I got up and walked out the first thing that caught my eye was Shawn sleeping on the couch I made my way to him his breathing was steady I picked up my phone and I had no messages?

"Ok that's weird?" I thought

I simply shrugged it off and I grabbed my purse and went into the restroom to clean my face when I got out and I saw Shawn sitting on the island counter staring into space

"Hey.." I said hesitantly as I made my way to him and I sat across him

He didn't look at me "hi" he said looking down

You could feel the awkward tension between us but something kept bothering me

"Why where you not here yesterday?" I blurted out

He looked at me his stare sent chills down my spine

"I was busy" he said being vague as possible

But I couldn't help but be angry at him he stood me up and it hurt to have waited for him it was pathetic

"Did you forget?" I asked with a little bit of anger in my voice

He simply nodded not even a bit of remorse on his face he seemed dead

"Whatever Shawn I gotta go" I said as I stood up he still didn't look at me I walked to the door I had the knob in my hand "we didn't even work on the song" was the last thing i said before walking out

Shawn's POV

It's been a week After melody left I numb we didn't even talk or text as much anymore I didn't even see Tyler as much the only time I saw her was when we worked on the song and that wasn't even as much anymore all she did was write it down by herself sometimes

I was walking into the inspiration room when I herd muffles coming from the other room

"Yes mom I understand"

"I will"

I recognized her voice I opened the door and I was welcomed by melody with her brown hair down into wavy locks and she was wearing a t-shirt and some skinny jeans and black converse and her back was to me she then turned to me and her smile dropped

"I gotta go mom" she said as she hung up

Then silence

"May I help you?" She asked in a sassy tone I never liked when melody talked to me like that I wanted sweet melody back

"Umm..no I was just wondering why your here?" I asked while rubbing the back of my neck it was something I had the tendency to do when I'm nervous

"Why you don't want me here?" She asked in her sassy tone again

"Melody can you just cut it out already this isn't you!" I blurted out I instantly regretted it

She gave me a glare "I'm just upset at you Shawn because you first lied to me a week ago that you where gonna come but you never did and now I know why!" She almost yelled

Her words stung she found out "oh and I don't know but you never had the right mind to tell me you had a freaking girlfriend!" She yelled

She finally found out the one thing that I didn't want to be reminded of I didn't want to be with Tori but Andrew made me be with her for publicity

I stood there in silence having no idea what to say

"This was a mistake.." She said her voice breaking I looked at her and tears falling down her cheeks

"Tell me Shawn?" She asked she took a step closer to me and she looked at me I could see the broken in her eyes the pain and sadness "was you telling me that you loved me a lie to?" She asked

I cringed at her question of course I loved melody with everything I simply didn't answer her question scared that I was gonna say something wrong

"I knew it..." She whispered as she walked pass me a grabbed a stack of papers "here's the song I hope that you have a good life Shawn.." She said before walking out the door

I sat down on the couch I could feel one hot tear fall down my cheek I opened the sheet of paper to read the music

The song kept going but I couldn't keep reading because my vision was getting blurry from my tears I then wiped away my tears and I picked up my phone and dialed Andrew

"Yes?" He asked

"We are done..." I told him

"Great now we just gotta record it so tell her the recording booth at 8:30 ok?" He said

"Ya sure.." Was the last thing I told him before hanging up
