I get home stopping at the driveway to see cop cars are here shit I whisper running up to the door.

I stop and walk up to the door to see it's open put your hands up now! I hear a man yell.

Get on the ground! I hear a woman yell, I walk in to see 2 cops pointing their guns at my dad while he is on the floor with his hands behind his head.

The lady sees me don't move! She says pointing her gun at me, I put my hands up what's your name? She ask.

Skylar Mahone I replie while she puts her gun down, your his daughter, the one he's been abusing? She questions.

Yes I say nodding while I look to see the guy is putting the hand cuffs on my dad then helps him stand.

Your under arrest for child abuse and being intoxicated when we got here the guy tells me while my dad glares at me.

I'm gonna kick your ass he mouths to me while I hide behind the lady cop, ma'am, do you mind that we ask your daughter a few questions? The lady ask my mom.

Mom walks up of course she replies holding onto my arm, the man and my dad walk past us glaring at me.

You two are safe now the lady tells us giving us a small smile, I'll meet you at the station? The lady ask and we nod.

She walks out and I look at my mom I'm sorry I mumble, I'm so happy she says pulling me in a hug.

I hug back thank you for doing that she continues pulling away looking at me, she wipes a tear from her cheek you're not mad? I question.

I'm in a room sitting at a table with a mirror in front of me and I know on the other side that they are watching me.

The lady from my house walks in hello Skylar, I haven't introduce myself, I'm officer Rodriguez she tells me sitting in front of me.

The next day he hit me and told me and I didn't do anything, since that day he's been hitting me and my mom tries to stop it but he just hurts her too I continue.

Everyday till this day he would tell me it should have been me that died and not my sister I say.

That doesn't sound like a good dad she replies, yeah, no kidding I mumble looking down at my hands.

What was her name? She ask, Rose I replie looking back up at her.

That's a beautiful name she says giving me a small smile, thanks, I named her I say smiling a little.

When she was born my dad brought me into the room my mom was in with her and he set me down on the bed I continue.

My mom and dad told me I can get to name her and I liked flowers and my favorite flower is a rose so I named her Rose I say.

She was my best friend I contuine trying not to cry, she stands up and walks up to me stand up she tells me so I slowly stand up.

I lift my shirt up and she looks at my stomach to see brusies, she touches it so I hiss and step back a little pulling my shirt back down.

Okay, this is all I wanted to hear she says grabbing her notepad, you can go to the next room to your mom she tells me walking out.

I also walk out to the hall to see my mom standing there, a tear rolls down my cheek and I run up to her hugging her.

I'm sorry, it's all my fault that she's died I say crying with my voice cracking.

I'm sorry that I took her to the movies, I'm sorry that we got into the crash, I'm sorry that I wasn't the one who should have died in the crash I continue.

Hey, it's not it's your fault okay, you didn't know it was gonna rain that hard that night, you didn't know there was gonna be a drunk driver that night she tells me cupping my cheeks.

I don't blame you, I blame that bastard who was driving while drunk, it's not your sweety she continues kissing my forehead then hugs me again.

Let's go home she tells me pulling away after a few seconds of hugging, we get outside to her car getting in and starts it then backs out.

Look at the bright side Sky, he won't be home abusing us anymore she tells me giving me a small smile and rubs my shoulder a little.

I give her a small smile back then look out the window finally I say to myself smiling a little.
