( next day)

-Skylar's POV-

I wake up to my phone ringing when did I fall asleep? I thought, I groan grabbing my phone and answer hello? I say into the phone.

Hey baby, did I wake you? I hear Nancy say, I rub my eyes no, I've been up for a while I replie.

You do know what time it is right? She ask me, I look at the clock to see it's 8am yeah, it's 8 I say.

Okay well, I'm going to go to Nicole's to hang out she tells me, okay, have fun babe I replie.

I will, I love you she says, I love you too I also say hanging up then put my phone down.

I should get up I say to myself getting out of bed, after doing everything I need to do I head downstairs.

It's quite, to quite I say to myself walking into the kitchen, I see a note on the fridge so I walk up to it and grab it.

Skylar, your father went to the bar and I'm at work, I'll be home at 9pm so you have to eat by yourself.

After I read the note I roll my eyes cause my dad is always at the bar, I set it down and head out to my car.

I get in starting it then head to Lisa's cause why not, I get to her house and park my car getting out.

I walk up to the door and knock on it and a few seconds later Lisa opens it hey Skylar she says smiling.

I look at her outfits and my god she looks sexy hey Lisa I replie also smiling, Nancy isn't here she went to nicoles she tells me.

I know, she called me telling me that I say, wanna come in? She ask.

I'll love too I replie walking in, where's Finn? I ask looking at her.

He just left with his father a few seconds before you got here she replies closing the door while I nod.

She looks at me what happen to your lip? She questions grabbing my face touching my lip a little.

I hiss pulling back and don't say you walked into another door, you can't just randomly walk into a door and get this hurt every time she continues.

How did you get it? She ask, I sigh I can't tell you I say looking at the ground nervously.

She lifts my head up so I can look at her you can tell me she says, I can't I say while she grabs my hand pulling me to the couch.

Skylar, are your parents hurting you? She ask, I keep looking at the ground with my heart pounding.

My dad is, when he drinks which is all the time he gets abusive towards my mom and I, especially me I tell her.

Why is he doing it, do you know? She questions, I breath in and out it all started when my sister died I say.

( flashback) ( August 22nd 2011)

I'm in my room laying in my bed playing video games with my pants off Skylar my sister Rose says walking in.

Hmm? I hum not looking away from the tv, are you ready? She ask.

For what? I question looking at her, you forgot huh? She says while I look at her confused.

Today is the day we go to the movies like we always do every friday she continues while I sigh.

Crap, I did forget I say getting up while she passes me my pants, thanks I say while she nods walking out.

I quickly putting it on then grab my wallet and my keys, I get downstairs to see her waiting next to the door.

We'll be back later I tell mom and dad, okay, have fun dad replies kissing both of our cheeks while mom does the same.

Be save mom tells us, we will Rose replies while we head out the door and to my car.

( after the movies)

We're heading back home and during the movie a really bad rain storm started so it's hard for me to see a little.

What is up this rain? Rose questions, I have no idea I replie still trying to see.

Skylar! Rose yells so I see lights coming on my side and I see it's a car and it's gonna hit us.

I quickly put my hand over Rose to keep her in the seat while the car crashes into us making the car flip.

We end up in the ditch while the car is upside down, I groan rubbing my head with blood dripping everywhere.

Rose? I say looking at her to see she's pass out with blood coming out of her head.

Rose! I yell shaking her and she's not waking up, Rose! I yell again still shaking her and nothing.

I unbuckle myself and I land on which is the roof of the car and everything hurts but I don't care.

I craw out the window then get up screaming because of my leg is broken, I jump onto one foot to her side Rose! I yell looking in then craw through the window unbuckling her and pull her out.

I lay her onto my lap Rose, wake up! I yell shaking her, Rose, please wake up I say still shaking her.

Please I whisper and nothing, I sniff a little I love you I tell her kissing her head then pull her to my chest hugging her sobbing.

( end of flashback)

I know she was gone and I knew I couldn't do anything I say, I ended up in the hospital with my head busted open, some broken ribs and a broken leg I continue with a tear rolling down my cheek.

Skylar, I'm so sorry she says pulling me into a hug and I hug back, I miss her I say sobbing into her ear while she rubs my back.

Who was it? She ask after a few seconds of silence, I pull away he was a drunk driver I replie sniffing.

Did they catch him? She questions and I nod, my dad blames me for her death everyday and he takes his anger out on my mom and I I say.

I have to call the police she says getting up, no, don't! I basically yell grabbing her arm and pull her back down.

Skylar, this is serious she tells me, I know but just don't, please I replie whispering the last part.

She looks at me debating on if she wants to or not okay, I won't call them but if I see with one more thing even a scratch on you, I'll call them she says.

Okay, deal I replie, now you know why I am how I am I continue after a few seconds of silence.

Does Nancy know? She questions, no, she doesn't, she thinks I'm a only child I replie.

He says it's my fault because she's dead I say with a tear going down my cheek, no Skylar, it's not your fault okay? She tells me cupping my cheeks.

It was that drunk drivers fault, he made the choice of driving when he was drunk, no one knew she continues.

Then why does he take his anger out on me? I question, he probably doesn't like to say how he's feeling, maybe that's why he drinks and he's just a mean drunk she replies.

I sigh and look at the ground then her again it's funny, I haven't talked about Rose in a while I say chuckling a little.

I talked about her like everyday for 3 months then I guess my parents got tired of it and didn't want to hear it so I just stopped I continue.

Skylar Lisa says after a few seconds of silence, I look at her to see she's giving me a small smile wanna go get some breakfast with me? She ask.

I smile a little I'll love too I replie and she smiles back.
