Chapter VII: The First Order Strikes Back

"So if we jump into lightspeed again we'll be out of fuel, they've got us." Said Finn, knowing that there is no way out. The First Order has them trapped.

"Not yet they don't." Said Poe, as he walks to General Leia. "Permission to jump in an X-Wing and blow something up?"

"Permission granted." Said Leia, as Poe and BB-8 rush to his X-Wing. "There's an X-Wing on the hangar, use that one." Said Leia, as Jacen rushes to the hangar, following Poe, BB-8, and the rest of the pilots as they run to their fighters. "Admiral spin us around!" Ordered Leia as Finn watches them run to the hangar.

"Your fighter is that way." Said Poe as they then split ways. Jacen then runs through the hangar door as he sees a blue and white X-Wing as other fighters prepare for take off. Jacen quickly climbs up the ladder and jumps into the cockpit as he then turns on the controls, ready for take off.

"Alright, on my lead." Said Jacen, The X-Wing then starts rising while the cockpit closes, as it flies through the shield doors, but a missile then flies past Jacen as it flies through the shield doors, destroying the hangar with every ship inside. Jacen couldn't believe it, the hangar was destroyed, along with every other hangar in the ship. Jacen then turns to see three TIE Fighters as they fly behind another TIE Fighter, a special one to be exact. It had bent wings that were pointier and triangular, and it looked faster too, it was a TIE Silencer.

"Follow my lead." Said Kylo as he prepares to destroy the Resistance star cruiser. Transport ships then start firing at the TIE Fighters as Kylo shoots fire at the Star cruiser, he then starts spinning as he enters the entrance of one of the hangars, he then shoots two proton torpedos as the hangar then explodes, destroying everything insight. Kylo then immediately flies his ship as blaster fire then shoots down a TIE Fighter from behind as it explodes. The TIE Fighters then shoot fire at the cruiser, but there was no damage, it was protected by a shield protecting it from blaster fire. Kylo then senses an X-Wing from behind him. Kylo then flies left as the X-Wing was then on his tail.

Jacen started following the TIE Silencer as it then flies down and under, spinning back to normal position, suddenly the TIE Silencer started firing green blaster fire at Jacen, as he starts firing red blaster fire at the TIE Silencer, creating a road of blaster fire as they almost crash into each other, but then slightly dodged the incoming collision, and before that Jacen saw who was under that cockpit. It was Kylo Ren, flying the TIE Silencer, it was his fighter.

Kylo then saw the pilot of the X-Wing, his cousin, Jacen Skywalker. Apparently he has managed to escape the explosion as Kylo then flies back to his mission, and just as he feared, the X-Wing was following him.

"You can't win this fight Skywalker." Said Kylo.

"I know Ben." Said Jacen's voice as it was heard in Kylo's head. He couldn't believe it, how could he have learned the ways of the Force if he wasn't Force Sensitive in the first place? "Please don't do this." Said Jacen.

"This is not your decision to make." Said Kylo, as he then turns left, ready to finish his mission.

Kylo turned left, then Jacen turned left. Kylo then flew up as Jacen then flew up. No matter where Kylo was going, Jacen was still behind him. Suddenly two more TIE Fighters were now behind Jacen as he flies his X-Wing out of the way, dodging every blaster fire there was coming out of the TIE Fighters, while Kylo then flies his ship near a window, he then flies away from the ship and turns back around, ready to destroy part of the ship, aiming his fire, but then...he sensed her. General Leia Organa, leader of the Resistance, and the mother of Ben Solo. He started sensing her just as she began to sense him. The war room was now in his reach, Kylo puts his thumb on the trigger, ready to fire, but he can't. Kylo couldn't do it, why was he sensing these feelings?

Jacen then flies over the TIE Fighters as he blasts one of them down, as it crashes toward the other one as they both explode. Jacen flies through the explosion as he sees the TIE Silencer, flying toward the ship, he had to fly in there fast. Jacen then aims his fire at the TIE Silencer as he puts his thumb on the trigger, but he remembered that Ben was on that fighter, he couldn't do it, not like this.

Kylo's heart raced like a jet engine, his thumb still over the trigger, and his mother kept sensing him. Kylo then puts his thumb away from the trigger as he then feels sadness, knowing what he was about to do.

Jacen then then puts his thumb away from the trigger, he couldn't take the shot. Then two TIE Fighters fly by and shoot torpedoes at the control room as it explodes.

"No!" Jacen yelled. As the main room was destroyed with everyone inside. Kylo just froze in sadness, his mother was in that explosion. Kylo and the two TIE Fighters fly away from the battle. The fire from the transport ships shot down one of the TIE Fighters as it explodes. Kylo then sees a small blue holographic image of General Hux projected near the controls.

"Ren, the Resistance has been pulled out of range." Informed Hux. "We cant cover you at this distance, return to the fleet." Ordered Hux as his holographic image fades away. Kylo grunts in frustration, knowing he has to retreat.

Jacen flies the X-Wing back into the hangar as there were flames everywhere. Jacen the jumps off the X-Wing as he runs to the door, dodging every flame in his way. Jacen then runs through the doors as they began to close, as Jacen found himself in the hallway.

"Jace!" Yelled Finn's voice as Jacen sees him and Poe, followed by BB-8, rushing to him. "Are you alright?"

"Where's General Leia?" Asked Jacen, uneasy, and hoping that she survived.

"...come with us." Said Poe as the four of them run to the hallway as they see Lieutenant Connix looking at the window.

"It's terrible." Said Connix, as they see Pieces of Debris floating all over, and they General Organa's body, floating in space as she was frozen from the cold area of space. They couldn't believe it, but Jacen started sending movements from her hand, as the debris and frozen ice start moving away from Leia. Before they knew it, Leia was using the Force to pull herself toward the Resistance Cruiser, as if she were flying across the stars.

"Come on!" Yelled Poe as they all run toward one of the doors as the destroyed control room was sealed so no one would get sucked out to space. As the door opens, Jacen and Poe pick up Leia's unconscious body as PZ-4CO, a blue Tofallid like protocol Droid shows up with a medical bed. Jacen and Poe put her on the bed as they then rush her to the medical room, as the cloaking beacon falls from Leia's hand. Jacen stops running as he watches Leia get carried off to the emergency room, hoping that his Aunt was ok. Finn was next to him, holding the cloaking beacon, the only way to find Rey.

"Are you ok?" Asked Finn, worried about Jacen, knowing how much she meant to him.

"I saw him Finn." Said Jacen, talking about his cousin. "It wasn't him." He confirmed.
