Chapter XVIII: The Truth

"We need to relocate." Said Cassian, finding out a strategy in order for them to escape now that the First Order has them on their radar. "Somewhere we can keep away from the First Order."

"In the unknown regions?" Asked Bodhi.

"I'm not sure yet." Said Cassian.

"Somewhere safe from the war I hope." Jacen suggested. "There's got to be transport ships at the Spaceport."

"There could be Stormtroopers there." Said Cassian.

"I'll help deal with them." Said Jacen.

"I don't like running away." Said Jyn. "But I think it's our only option."

"As for you." Said Cassian to Jacen. "You need to get back to the Resistance. Just help get us out of here."

"Alright then." Said Jacen, as they get ready to make their escape plan.

Stormtroopers were patrolling during the night, making sure Skywalker doesn't leave this planet. They also had to guard the remaining transport ship so the army of troopers can escape.

"What a wasteland." Said one of the Stormtroopers.

"Yeah, it's better than being in the cold all day." Said the other trooper, thinking about their time on Starkiller Base before it imploded. Suddenly a blue ring was shot through them, stunning them to the sand. Jyn then walked toward them, making sure they're both unconscious. She just hoped Jacen knew what he was doing.

Jacen, Cassian, and Bodhi stood behind another building, seeing the transport pod Jacen took as two Stormtroopers stood beside it, making sure when Skywalker comes, they'll be the ones to take him down. Jacen then slightly moved his fingers, causing the stormtrooper to hear something.

"Did you hear that?" Asked the trooper.

"Hear what?" Said the other.

"That noise." Said the trooper, as Jacen moved his fingers again, causing the other trooper to hear it.

"Now I hear it." He said. "What do you think is going on?"

"Let's check it out." Said the other as they walk away from the transport pod, as the three of them, followed by Jyn, run toward it.

"The transport is ours." She said, as  Jacen then opens the cockpit.

"Great. Let's get out of here." Said Cassian, as he and Bodhi run toward it. Jyn stayed behind as she and Jacen looked at each other. There were no other words, just silence.

"Please be careful out there." Said Jyn, looking at her son. "I can't lose you again."

"You won't." Said Jacen, looking at his mother. "I'll find you again. I promise." Said Jacen, as she then looks at her son one last time, and runs to the transport ship. Jacen then stepped into the pod, sat in the pilot's seat as the cockpit closes and begins to rise the ship, leaving the sandy mess for good. He then sees the night sky extend into space as he flies it through the stars, he then sees a First Order transport ship go into lightspeed, wherever Jyn was going, he had to find her again. Jacen then takes out his hololink to make sure if Finn was okay. He turns it on and sees the blue image of Finn projected.
