Hey everyone! Just handing out another authors note for the day. Okay, so it's no secret that most Star Wars fans have given a lot of backlash to The Last Jedi since it has been released in theaters, and it is probably because of some of the subplots of the movie. Yes, I mean the Finn and Rose storyline and The Poe's Mutiny storyline. Just so we're clear I have nothing against Rose, only her motives bothered me. Admiral Holdo on the other hand is the most controversial for me, and all she did was give Poe a hard time by not telling him the escape plan. Sure he risked a lot of lives but she didn't have to punish him like that, Leia already did that! In this story, Jacen heads to Tatooine to find his mother, while being hunted by the First Order, while Finn and Poe did their own side quests which left fans unsatisfied. So I wondered, what if Finn and/or Poe went with Jacen instead? I wrote down a list of the events that could've happened if any of these choice happened.
So if Finn went with Jacen:
- He wouldn't go to Canto Bight with Rose. (Maybe Poe takes Finn's place?)
- Jacen and Finn would bond some more.
- Finn and Jacen team up against Phasma and the Dark Assassin.
- Finn would learn that running away won't stop the war.
- When Jacen goes to Vader's Castle on Mustafar, Finn and Rey would reunite a little earlier.
- Finn would help Rey and Jacen infiltrate the Supremacy.
If Poe went with Jacen:
- Poe would leave the Resistance Ship, and receives updated progress from both Finn and Lieutenant Konnix.
- Jacen and Poe would team up against Stormtroopers. (Two best friends fighting side by side.)
- Poe would meet Rey earlier.
- Poe would sneak into the Supremacy and meet up with Finn and Rose.
If they both went with him:
- Finn, Poe and Jacen would've teamed up.
- They would find a code breaker at Mos Eisley Cantina. (Maybe Lando Calrissian?)
- A combination of the two options, with a few differences.
- Finn, Poe, and Code Breaker try to help the Resistance, while Jacen and Rey deal with Snoke and Kylo Ren.
- Either the Battle of Crait would go differently or be non existent.
