Tyler took up the chance to learn moss Code from Gus. And everyone who's a true fan of dumping ground knows that during the first season of dg Tyler was the cheeky funny prankster who had the wingwoman of jody (and Rick) he and Jody had become good friends while she lived with him so when she left although he had Rick it was as if Tyler wasn't really Tyler with her not there he took learning moss Code very seriously especially once he had Met Jody's family and brother Kingsley. So because he had no phone like Carmen he was going to learn moss Code instead as its faster than texting
When he and Carmen go on a rescue mission to save Jody he and Carmen get locked in the bedroom with jody he quickly thinks fast and uses the torch he had been practicing with in the episode to send the emergency signal to their friends.
So Tyler has rescued jody from Kingsley twice
