Reason 121 why she went she didn't actually want to go on the date with Brandon she first says no it's never confirmed why she said no.the first time but it could be a tie with Tyler and just having zero belief that a boy would genuinely like her.

To me maybe Jody was holding on to the idea of her very first date was it being with Tyler. Which is why she says well if no guys know me like you do then why should she believe that

You literally see her trying to make it as simple as she can to Tyler that she doesn't want to go on the date with Brandon but actually wants it to be with him.

She goes so far to saying how Tyler would feel if they were to go on a date

She gets so frustrated with this because she's been holding these questions in for so long we sort of go back to their mini argument in what lies beneath

And when Tyler says he wouldn't you literally feel at most heartbroken for Jody after her reaction to it

Yeah he tries to save it by saying he has no money but then he gives her the ultimatum he tells Jody to go with Brandon on the date

And what does Jody do

She goes on the date. Because he told her to

I wonder if he'd said what he actually felt then maybe she would have gone with something positive but just because she does go on the date with Brandon it's never said what happened

This is just my opinion

I think Jody couldn't really enjoy the date because she was thinking about Tyler. Maybe, Brandon did try to kiss her but I don't believe she would have let him (she wouldn't let Tyler and we knew that reason why) plus the scene at the table where the girls are trying to get more out from Jody they eye gaze from both to and from eachother.
