Tyler never really got to give his opinion on how he saw him and Jody it was more on jodys end but there was moments where you realise just how dismayed about jody and her making him do all this because she wanted to argue that they were not a couple was for him to 'find' a girlfriend which he felt uncomfortable about doing so when he does and jodys now got him dumped
when Tyler gets 'dumped' by Sophie thanks to jody he's not angry about the fact the relationship didn't even start properly more the fact he couldn't understand or process what jody wanted or what she wanted him to do about everyone whispering about them and seeing them as a couple

I think this was more Tyler feeling hurt that jody was almost ashamed of him.... Of their relationship because they were best friends but it wasnt your guy best friend to guy best friend or girl best friend to girl best friend but because the two were the opposite sex to each other that had to make it awkward (or maybe he was hoping that maybe jody did like him because what he may have been hiding is he has feelings for her)

Off course Tyler later gets jody to get him to understand her more her not wanting to change that their friendship it was important to her....
All the way through it was never about Sophie to Tyler it was about jody.
Tyler admits their friendship is important to him too.
