Merida's POV

I know I wasn't into that 'marry a stranger' thing, but Hiccup sorta... changed it. I mean, I do love him and we were strangers at the beginning but so is everyone you meet, right? Anyways. I said yes. It was crazy. I cried in sorrow because I thought I will never be able to see him, the one that made me feel real love, again but after I opened the door, I cried in happiness because we are able to spend the rest of our lives together. He is the one I want to spend my lifetime together. My father cleared his throat behind us and I pulled away from the love of my life. We smiled at each other and I didn't even cared about my looks. Somewhere I did because I didn't want him to see me like this. Messy hair, red eyes, red nose and tears streaming all over my face but I guess he didn't care. Better said, I hoped so. My worries drowned as I looked into his green eyes but new came up as I saw him frowning. “What's the matter, Hiccup?”, I asked, feeling fear coming up in my mind. Fear about not liking what I am going to hear next. His mouth opened but no word were spoken. His eyes looked around and his hands hold mine tight. What is happening? His eyes caught mine again and after he took a deep breath, he started to explain things in a stuttering way: “I... My... What about... my family? Everyone is still at Berk. I should tell them. I want them to know...” his word stopped but a smile led the rest of what he was saying, “I want them to know, that I am going to marry the most gorgeous girl.. oh excuse me, woman in the world.” He ran his fingers trough my red curls and I giggled about how cute he is: “Actually, I'm from another world, remember?” He chuckled hugged me again but my father interrupted us like he did before. “You can bring your family here, that's no problem. The castle is big enough!” I laughed and turned to my father but Hiccup scratched the back of his head and he sounded a bit embarrassed, telling my father that this wasn't that easy as he may think. My parents frowned at him. “What do you mean?”, my mother asked, patting her belly, probably because the baby kicked or something. “I... I took a pretty dangerous route to get here... You know about the Bermuda-Triangle?” Hiccups eyes wander around the room. Was he nervous? Was he afraid he wouldn't be able to get home again. Doe she want to leave me? No, stay calm, Merida. My father gulped and my mothers jaw dropped. They looked at each other in disbelieve before going towards Hiccup and me. “You survived a trip trough the triangle?”, my mother asked shocked. Hiccup nodded and my father lay his hands on Hiccup's shoulders. “You are brave enough to tame a dragon, you are brave enough to fly into the Bermuda-Triangle. I can't wish for a braver and greater husband for my daughter. You will be a marvelous son-in-law!” The both men smiled and Hiccup was thankful for my fathers words. “Thank you, your majesty.”, Hiccup uttered and my parents laughed. “Just call us by our names, Fergus and Elinor.”, my mother said softly, gesturing to my father and her while saying their names. “You are part of the family now, Hiccup.” Well, not quite. We are engaged but the marriage is coming. But when? Do we need to marry now? When will we visit. No, wrong question. “How will we visit yer family?”, I asked loud enough for everyone to hear but I was still sunken in my thoughts. Noticing Hiccup gulping made me think of something. Does he want me to stay here? “It's … it's dangerous but I think the only way would be the one I came.. through the triangle.”, He answered but got quieter with every word. My Parents looked at each other in silence and worry. I needed to know how he thinks. “Do ye want me to come with ye?”, I asked shy and his jaw clasped and unclasped a few inches as he didn't knew what to say. I growled like I know that he doesn't want to hurt me but I want to know if I can come with him. “Please! Just tell me if I should come with ye. If ye want me to travel with you.”, I said, running my fingers trough my thick red curls. His frown made me frown. Did I say something wrong? I bet I did. His Tone was stern but caring: “Of course I want you by my side. I want you to meet my family and I want to see how everyone is doing but... I am afraid.” “Of what?”, my father interjected, not like he couldn't understand it, but he really wanted to know. Hiccup took my Hand and we faced each other. He looked into my eyes and I looked into his beautiful, green eyes. “I'm afraid of loosing you. We entered a terrible storm and I wouldn't see any sense to move any further if I lose you in the storm.” His hand stroke my blushing cheeks as I gave him a warm smile. My heart rose from his words and I knew he was telling the truth, a very soppy truth, but it's OK, I guess he is that soppy-type and even if I'm not, doesn't mean I don't like kitsch. “So... we just have to tie you two lovebirds together.”, my father suggested and I saw Hiccups eyes widen before he growled in recognition of something that seemed to obvious to be forgetable. “Of course... How could I forget this? The stuff on the dragonrider gear.” His palm met his forehead and I giggled while my parents looked to us, confused and looking for an explanation. He took a deep breath and explained how he used to ride Toothless. That he uses some kind of gear with belts and straps and buckles that keeps them connected so he won't fall off. It's impressive how smart he is and somehow, smart guys are attractive. He told us that if we had come leather and other stuff he could make some gear for me so we don't have to worry about anything when we fly. My father agreed and got a servant to tell the people in the kingdom about our needs and the travel. So, Berk here I come!
