3rd Person POV

Merida told Hiccup to take it easy and maybe just stay at home that day, but he refused. “Let me at least go to the dragons... please!”, he begged from the other side of the door, while Merida was getting ready in the bath. After a while of silent thinking, Merida sighed. “Fine. But...”, she started and Hiccup rolled his eyes, hearing that there is a 'but', “Ye have to stay with them until I come and get ye.” “But why?”, Hiccup asked, leaning against the wall, frowning. He winced as the door next to him suddenly opened and Merida rushed out, ready to go, crossing her arms before her chest, stating: “Because I said so!” Before he could complain, she played a kiss on his lips and went with the words: “I won't take long. Help yer father before ye go to the dragons, please. I've something very important to do.” Hiccup was curious about Merida's 'important thing to do' but she never told him what exactly she was going to do, so he just did as she pleased and went to his father to help him. Stoick was in his small chamber, packing some things and paintings. Memories swirled inside his head as he took the paintings from the wall. Since Hiccup came back, Stoick stopped painting his pictures. Even if he stayed in this room most of the time, he just sat there, looking at the unfinished painting of Hiccup riding Toothless high over Berk, and doubting to ever finish it. He tried to, but every time he hold a paintbrush, no new line was added. Not once did the brush touch the canvas. The fabric was never humidified by the dye ever again. He was afraid to finish it. The nightmares about his son were finally gone. He was afraid that new pictures would appear, if he would finish the picture of his long lost son, high above the clouds on his dragon. That it was all a dream. A new, beautiful dream among all the nightmares that haunted him. But for now, while he packed some things, the canvas was covered with a white piece of cloth again. “Will you take it with you?”, Hiccup asked, standing between the door and his father, pointing towards the canvas hidden under the white material. Stoick shook his head, giving him a simple but effective 'No' as an answer. “Are you sure?”, Hiccup asked again and Stoick turned around to face him. “No...” Hiccup didn't went deeper into this conversation and just helped him packing some things and carrying them out of the room. “Hiccup?”, Stoick asked a bit nervous and Hiccup faced him after putting down a bag. “Can you show me the dragons?”, he asked and Hiccup cheered, deep inside, being happy that he could show his father that dragons are good, once again. Even if it's only Toothless and Zalavy. “If we go now, I won't be able to help you later... I promised Merida to stay at the cliff until she says otherwise.”, Hiccup explained but Stoick didn't mind. He said, that he is able to do the rest by himself. They headed outside the town and went to the cliff, where the dragons hid. Toothless greeted them with his jolly attitude and scanned Hiccup for a fish or something else to eat but sadly, he forgot to bring anything. To their surprise, Zalavy was still sleeping. Stoick's eyes widen as the beauty of a dragon emerged in his sight. “Is that... Merida's dragon?”, he asked, pointing at Zalavy, who was slowly waking up and stretching whilst rising from the ground. “Yes. She named her Zalavy. I've never seen a dragon like her.”, Hiccup remarked, scratching his neck. He was actually really proud of Merida for taming Zalavy. “Do you want to pet her? She's actually really kind.”, Hiccup asked his father but he rejected that offer. Something. Something was about her, that seemed familiar to Stoick. After she was fully awake, she trotted over to the father and son duo, to greet them, in the same jolly way Toothless did, except sniffing on Hiccup to check if he had food. She looked behind them, trying to find Merida and she was quiet sad about not seeing her with them. But Merida had important things to do. And she won't tell Hiccup about it. Because it's going to be a surprise. Was that too much information?

(A/N2: Uhhhuhuu.. what could the surprise be? What do you think? Sorry for any spelling errors - no time for proof reading ^^'' Thank you all for reading and commenting and supporting me in all my books <3 )
