Replacing Richelle

2. I am right for this duet

Amy's POV:

I'm running through the new choreography that Daniel has just taught us when I hear my name being called. I don't understand why. I mean, I haven't done anything. I don't think. I look up, hoping I'm not in trouble when Emily begins.
"You girls will perform this choreography as a quartet with Noah. I want to see your dynamic when you work together. It will help me to decide who will be the understudy for Richelle whilst she isn't here." I'm honestly so confused. Why isn't Richelle here?

Emily's POV:

After speaking with Daniel, he decided it was between Amy, Jacquie and Lola. All three of them are different dancers. Amy is an acro dancer, Lola is a jazz dancer and Jacquie is contemporary. Each one of them can bring something different to the duet. However, I have to choose the best. Replacing Richelle will be the hardest thing for me.

I dismiss everyone else apart from those four.
"Okay, girls. You were the top three dancers during that choreography. I need an understudy for Richelle in case she needs more time off. When you're as passionate as she is, it hurts to keep going. She will be back, but I can't take any chances." I need one of these girls to be able to step in when they're needed. Let's see which one of them can do it.

Amy's POV:

The music comes on and I am ready. If I get this duet, even if I don't perform it, I will give everything I have to impress Emily. I will be in training from early morning till late night. I will strive to get the impressive lifts perfect. I will be as passionate as Richelle is.
As I perform, I am only thinking about this dance. I am only thinking about what moves come next. I am not thinking about Lola or Jacquie or the competition. I am fearless. And then, I'm being lifted. Noah is dancing with me. I am right for this duet. I feel like screaming. I don't know why, I just do.

I'm heavily breathing by the end of the dance when I hear Emily's voice.
"Well, Daniel and I have a lot to discuss. We'll let you know which one of you will be the understudy tomorrow. You are dismissed." I take myself out and grab my stuff out my locker. I've done all I can do. Hopefully, I get the understudy. Hopefully, what I've done is enough.

A/N: This is kind of a filler chapter. It kind of shows the dynamic between Emily and Amy and that's important for this fanfic so stay with me whilst it gets a little bit shorter.
