CH 32: Her

Damien's Pov

A knock on my door took me out of my trance. I kept replaying what my father said to me.

My door opened and who came through my door shocked me.

"Ricky? Is Rachel okay?" I asked

"No no nothing like that I'm here to speak to you about her" he said closing the door.

He sat in the chair on the other side of the room and sat silent for what felt like forever. "Nice ring be the way. And congrats to both of you" he said. However I knew there was a but coming.

"Do you remember the first time you hurt my sister?" He asked.

How could I forget it. She called it the beginning of a relationship with problems.

"Yes"

"Walk me through it then" he told me and crossed his arms.

"Why?"

"Humor me. Just do it" Ricky demanded.

"I carried her on the old strip club Babylon roof. Which didn't turn out well"

Flashback

"Fuck, Fuck,Fuck"

Why the hell you would do that. I thought.

I watched her ran down the stairs and I wanted her to come back. I don't know it was something about this girl that made me feel good but scared me. I had to push her away, I think she was changing me in such a short space of time.

I went home that night wondering if to go to her tutoring session the following day.

The next day after school, I carried my history book to the library and saw her sitting waiting for me.

"Turn to page 40 and read til 42" was all she said but I had to play it kool.

"Aww baby why so cold today" I replied.

"Look I have a meet....."

"Meeting with the principal at 3:30 then at 4 you have to go to a chess match but have to drop off papers too you cheer squad for them to look over and warm up before you get bac at 5. I know" I finished her speech and she looked me shocked as if she couldn't believe I remembered.

"40 til 42" she muttered.

The week went by with her not speaking to me and for some reason it hurt. I missed spending time with her.
One Saturday I surprised her by coming to her cheerleading thing.

"What are you doing here?" She pulled me aside from everyone to ask me.

"You know what I'm an ass. I like you, simply as that and I never liked anyone like this and it scared the life out of me so I thought if I pushed you away it would make me feel better but I felt like shit instead and I'm here to get my girl"

The smile on her face told me what I needed to know and I kissed her.

Flashback end

"And after that you screwed up about 50 times after. Yeah sure she screwed up once or twice. Look you make my sister happy but it seems like you mostly make her sad to a point she would cry all day and night"

"What are you getting at Ricky?"

"Take the ring off her finger!" He demanded, then got up and walked to the door. With his hand on the door knob he sighed and slowly pulled it open.

"Look I guess you love her but as I told her earlier sometimes love isn't enough. I may act like I don't care but she's my sister,a smart ass. Just take off the ring man" and with that he left.

I didn't know what to do are what to say, I get vex too fast,drink too much, the company I chose. I need to do better than try.

I sat there and remembered the first time I told her I love her. She was shocked, I was more shocked than her. We just got together after I made the mistake on the roof and I screwed up a whole months later.

Flashback

"I didn't even do anything" I yelled back.

"Yeah because slapping a girl's ass then winking at her in front your girlfriend isn't considered doing anything" she yelled back.

"You've got to be kidding me right, I'm not even fucking you yet and this is how you are acting"

"Oh fuck you and this stupid party you dragged me to. I should have been home finishing off my debate" she said then tried to leave.

"Jesus Rachel" I grabbed her hand and turned her to face me.

"You know who I am and I can't just change like that"

"Would you like it if I went downstairs, found any guy and....."

"Don't even finish that sentence, that's disrespectful"

"And what you did wasn't?" She asked and then it really clicked what I did.

Shit

"I'm leaving" she said

"Fuck Rachel can't you see that I love you" that shocked both of us.
