Amelia walked into the cafeteria and sat down next to Meredith and Derek. She was so tired.
"You look exhausted," Derek said.
"Thanks," Amelia laughed. Amelia noticed Owen walked in the cafeteria. Derek noticed Amelia was staring.
"Hey Amelia," Derek said.
"Hm?" She mumbled while still looking at Owen. Derek turned around and followed Amelia's eyes to Owen.
"Amelia," Meredith said.
"What," Amelia said.
"You're staring," Meredith said.
"Am not," Amelia said.
"Who are you looking at?" Derek said curiously.
"No one," Amelia said.
"Yeah ok," Derek said, "you sure you're not looking at Owen."
"What? Why would I be looking at Owen," she said nervously.
"Oh come on, I see the way you look at him," Derek said.
"Derek I don't like him like that," Amelia said, "we're just friends alright."
"Alright," Derek said. Amelia got up and walked over to Owen.
"Hey," She said.
"Hey," Owen said.
"Uh, Ryan invited Kailey over tonight, at like 4ish you can come too," Amelia smiled.
"I would, but I have to work," he frowned. Owen's phone rang and the caller id read "Jen".
"Fuck," Owen said as he picked up. He put his hand over the phone for a second.
"I'll talk to you later," Owen said.
"Okay," Amelia said. He took his hand off his phone and Amelia knew he was about the have a heated conversation. Owen walked out of the cafeteria and Amelia watched him go. Derek got up and walked past Amelia.
"You're a bad liar," he said. Meredith was still sitting down.
"So are you two dating?" Meredith said.
"I-I don't know," Amelia admitted, "I think so."
"How So?" Meredith asked.
"I mean we both said we wanted to be with each other," Amelia said, "he's a really good kisser."
"So you've been kissing?" Meredith smiled.
"Every time I see him I just want to make out with him," Amelia blushed, "I-I don't know why to do about that." She laughed.
"Does Ryan know?" Meredith said.
"No," Amelia said. Meredith and Amelia continued to talk about Owen. Owen on the other hand was having a heated conversation with his ex-wife. Owen's ex-wife, Jen, now wanted partial custody of Kailey. Owen had had full custody since Kailey was 4, he couldn't give her up. Jen was a manipulative abusive mother. She cheated on Owen and abused Kailey starting at the age of 2. Jen abused her for 2 years until Owen found out. Owen has never forgiven himself for being at work and letting that happen. Jen now calls once a week, wanting to see Kailey, and Owen won't let her. Owen can't bear to let Kailey be with her. He hung up after a long argument and laid down on one of the oncall beds. He called Amelia because he needed someone to talk to.
"Hey what's up," Amelia said.
"Hey I need to talk to you," Owen said.
"Okay, is everything alright?" Amelia said.
"No," Owen said. Minutes later the oncall door opened and Amelia came and sat next to Owen.
"What's wrong?" She asked.
"My ex-wife wants partial custody over Kailey," he said upset, "she abused Kailey, she cheated on me, she's a horrible person and I can't let that happen."
"Oh Owen," Amelia said. She hugged him tightly. She let him put his head in her lap, and she ran her fingers through his hair.
"Can you stop her?" Amelia said.
"No, she said she's going to take me to court," Owen said. Amelia rubbed his back as he tried to calm down.
"Can't Kailey make the decision herself," Amelia said.
"The legal age is 14," Owen said, "she's 13."
"When's her birthday?" Amelia said.
"January 23," Owen said.
"Can you push this off for 3 months?" Amelia said.
"I️m going to," Owen said.
"It's going to be okay," Amelia said.
"Amelia, this women almost killed my child, if she gets her who knows what she'll do," Owen said crying.
"Ok ok," Amelia said softly as she hugged him. Owen pulled back and kissed Amelia softly. Amelia and Owen stared at each other for a while. Amelia pressed her lips up against Owen's. She loved the taste of his lips. Owen pulled back and hugged Amelia again.
"Amelia I can't go through another custody battle with this women," Owen said. Amelia didn't know what to say. Owen knew Amelia didn't know what to say but he appreciated her company. Owen and Amelia silently sat next to each other for a while, lost in their minds.

Owen couldn't focus all day. Miranda Bailey, the chief definitely noticed. Owen was trying to hide his unstableness, but it didn't work. He was fine before talking to Amelia. He trusted Amelia so much he just let It all out.
"Hunt!" Bailey said.
"What?" Owen said.
"Can you come into my office?" Bailey said. Owen followed her into her office.
"Are you Okay?" She asked.
"no," Owen said.
"Hunt if you can't concentrate at work, what's going on?" Bailey asked concerned.
"My ex-wife is trying to steal my daughter from me," Owen said, "I'm sorry I'll focus on work."
"No Hunt, it's okay," Bailey said, "I've been there, done that, custody battles are messy, take the day off, collect yourself, and come back tomorrow."
"Thank you," Owen said. Owen changed and walked down to the lobby. It was 4:10, and Amelia was supposed to leave at 4. He saw her walking down the stairs at the opposite side of the lobby. She was on her phone, she didn't see Owen. They both were walking down the stairs at the same time. Owen took out his phone and texted Amelia. He texted her "look up". Owen knew she saw It because she looked confused, but she looked up. She saw Owen and smiled. Both of them walked down the stairs a little quicker and met in the lobby.
"Hey I thought you were working," Amelia said.
"Bailey gave me the day off, I can't focus today," Owen said.
"Okay," Amelia said, "you can come over if you want."
"I️'m okay, thank you, but I just need to be alone right now, and I think I need to have a few words with Jen," Owen said.
"Okay," Amelia said.
"But thanks for having Kailey over," Owen said.
"You're welcome," Amelia said.
"Maybe I'll call you later," Owen said.
"And maybe I'll answer," Amelia smiled.
"Maybe," Owen said.
