Amelia was still showing Liz pictures of her and Owen when a doctor came in. Derek got up.
"Is she okay?" Derek said.
"Yes, She is Okay, she's out of surgery and I just got word that she is awake," the doctor said, "you can see her now, room 220."
"Thank you so much," Derek said as he hugged her. They all got up and Amelia walked next to Liz.
"Do you think she wants to see me?" Amelia said. Liz put her arm around Amelia.
"Yes, of course she does," Liz said. Derek called Meredith quick.
"Hey is everything alright? I'm sorry I'm not there my surgery ended 2 hours ago but I tried to leave and an important surgery came in I had to take care of I can be on my way I'm done now I'm so sorry," Meredith said.
"Meredith it's fine, she's okay, I'm seeing her now, don't worry about coming take care of the kids don't worry I'll be home soon I love you," He said.
"I love you too Derek," Meredith said. Derek hung up as they were approaching their mom's room. Amelia tried to hang back, but Liz wouldn't let her.
"No, mom will love to see you you're not doing that," she said.
"She hates me," Amelia said.
"No she doesn't," Liz said. All five of them walked into their mom's room.
"Derek?" Their mom said groggily, "Amelia!"
"Hi," they both said.
"Amelia you're all grown up! What a lovely surprise," Carolyn said.
"Uh yeah," Amelia said.
"Oh I love seeing you all what a miracle you're all here, thank you all for coming, but can I talk to Amelia for right now?" Carolyn said.
"Yeah of course," they all said. Before they left they all hugged their mom. Amelia pulled up a chair and sat down next to her.
"Oh Amelia I've missed you," Carolyn said, "you are absolutely beautiful, how's Ryan? How are you? Are you married?"
"Ryan and I are good, and no I'm not but I have a boyfriend."
"A boyfriend? I want to see," She smiled. Amelia chuckled and showed her a picture.
"Oh he's a hottie," Carolyn smiled at her daughter.
"Mom!" Amelia said.
"You called me mom," Carolyn said.
"You are my mom," Amelia said.
"I'm sorry for everything, I really love you," Carolyn said.
"It's ok, I'm glad you're okay, I love you too...mom," Amelia said.
