Chapter 18

Amelia and Owen fell asleep on Amelia's couch. They were woken up by Owen's phone ringing. Owen looked up from cuddling Amelia and searched for his phone. It kept ringing and Amelia hurried her face in the blanket.
"Owen," she mumbled.
"I'm sorry," he said groggily. Owen finally found his phone, it was Kailey. Owen looked at his phone and realized it was 4pm.
"Hello?" Owen said.
"Dad!" Kailey said, "dad I'm so sorry, please come home."
"Okay," Owen said, "I shouldn't have left, I was mad, I'm sorry Kailey, is everything alright?"
"Everything is fine, I just want you back," Kailey said.
"Of course honey," Owen said. He hung up and got up to get his coat.
"Leaving?" Amelia mumbled as she was falling back asleep.
"Yes, I'll see you later I'll bring Ryan home," Owen said.
"Thank you," Amelia said. Owen looked over at Amelia who was already falling asleep on the couch. She rolled over and looked over at Owen. She pointed to the table.
"Key," She said softly. Owen smiled and walked over to the table and grabbed the key. He kissed Amelia's forehead.
"I'll see you later," he said.
"Mhm," she mumbled and nuzzled into the couch. Owen left and drove back over to his house. Kailey and Ryan were upstairs sitting on her bed.
"Hey Ryan?" Kailey said.
"Yeah?" Ryan said.
"Do you think our parents are dating? Or are something?" Kailey said.
"I don't know," Ryan said, "I think my mom likes your dad though."
"I think I almost caught them kiss one time," Kailey said, "what does that mean for us?"
"I don't know," Ryan said, "hopefully they aren't dating."
"Yeah," Kailey said. They both heard the front door open and Kailey ran downstairs. She hugged her dad tightly.
"I'm so sorry, I love you," Kailey said.
"No, I'm sorry, and I love you too Kailey," Owen said.
"Please don't let Jen take me," Kailey said.
"I won't I promise," Owen said, "is Ryan still here?"
"Yeah he's upstairs," Kailey said, "can he spend the night?"
"Yes, as long as you two behave," Owen said.
"Dad!" Kailey said, "I would never."
"Good," Owen said, "I love you."
"I love you too," Kailey said. Kailey went back upstairs and Ryan and her played video games for a while. Owen knew Amelia was probably sleeping so he sent her a text that Ryan can sleep over. Amelia couldn't sleep since Owen left. She felt like shit and she wanted to be in his arms. She felt her phone buzz. It was a text from Owen, it said Ryan could sleep over. She called him and cuddled into the blanket.
"Hey, I'm so sorry did I wake you?" Owen said.
"No, I couldn't sleep," Amelia said.
"Are you Okay with Ryan sleeping over?" Owen asked.
"Yeh as long as they don't do anything," Amelia laughed, "but I'm sure you're on top of that."
"Yes I am," Owen chuckled, "how are you feeling?"
"I feel like shit," Amelia laughed.
"Aw," Owen said, "I wish I could come over."
"Yeah," Amelia said. They were both silent on the line. Each of them wanted to be with each other.
"Amelia," Owen said.
"Yes," Amelia said.
"I think Kailey knows," Owen said.
