I opened my eyes, the bright light of the room causing me immediately to shut them again. I cautiously lifted one eyelid followed by the next, letting my eyes slowly adjust to the lightning. I moved my arms out but the motion was immediately restrained. I looked down to find red and blue yarn wrapped around my body, binding my arms to my side. I turned my head and saw a baby monitor sitting atop a mahogany dresser, anger raged inside of me. "Matthew" I screamed. A rush of footsteps came up the stairs. I burned the ropes, jumped from the bed and positioned myself strategically in front of the door.

Matthew burst through the door and tried to jump me but I raised my hand, using my power to prevent him.

"Matthew listen to me" I started, but he just kept trying to get at me. "You need to tell me who you are looking for because I don't know".

He finally stood still, breathing heavily, "Annie," he took a breath, "My little sister Annie."

Why would he think that I would know where his sister whom I have never met before was? Every nerve in my body burned, as if a fire had been lit to them. I was starving; if it were just for food, I would have been fine but it was for blood and I was in riveting pain. I had used so much power to prevent Matthew from touching me that my vampire side was overpowering. The pain raced up my body and when it reached my chest, I couldn’t hold on any longer, my power weakened and I let the shield down. I slumped down to the ground and gritted my teeth in pain.

Matthew leaped at me and pinned me to the ground, his hands on my shoulders. He was so close to me and smelled so good, I didn't want to hurt him, but I couldn't move him off me. I could see a vein pulsing in his neck, I swallowed hard "I'll help you find her", he didn't seem convinced and it was only a matter of time before I lost control and tore into his neck.

"I know where she is" I said, "I know where to find her." He looked at me with more than a hint of skepticism and rolled off "do you have any food?" he turned death pale and clutched his throat.

The only thing he had in the fridge was ice cream; I ate it hurriedly, the freeze numbing my burning sensation for blood. With every bite I took I forced myself to forget what my hunger really sought. Mind over matter, you are not an animal , I said to myself, if I told myself I wasn't in need for blood, I wouldn’t be in need for blood. As I scraped the last bits of the rocky road ice cream from the bottom of the bowl, all feelings of want and need vanished.

"Where do you know her from?" he asked, I licked ice cream from the corner of my lips, he shifted his seat back "my brother, I think he knows her from somewhere."  I thought back to the tattoo I had seen on Wyatt's arm. If only it was the same Annie.
