******Not Part of the Story*********

This is my first story, I wrote it about  about three years ago and its been sitting on my shelve so I decided to publish it. Please comment below on your thoughts about it, like and share.

Wendy

I stepped out of the taxi a light breeze blowing my hair up, I slipped on my shades, protecting myself from the blinding California sun. I exhaled loudly and said silently to myself "a new beginning, forget the past." I fished through my purse for the taxi fare as the driver went to the boot to unload our luggage. “Thank you” I said taking our suitcases.

"Ready for the year?" Wyatt, my brother,  asked coming behind me. I looked over at him and smiled "definitely." I bent down and took hold of my suitcase handles, he grabbed his and we began wheeling to the housing office. As we walked students bustled past us going about their ways. Totally normal. This was going to be me, normal, just like everyone else.

When we reached the housing office Wyatt looked down at me "no crying" he said. I ran a hand through my hair "there is no point; it's not going to change anything." He smiled and placed his hand around my shoulders "good girl."

The person sitting at the housing desk was short and plump with bobbed chestnut brown hair greying at the sides. She wore a white dress with yellow tulips accompanied by red-rimmed classes. A wide smile spread across her face when we came in “Wyatt and Wendy right?” She typed something into her computer and the Epson printer sitting on the counter roared to life. “Wyatt you are rooming with Jake Malone, and Wendy you seem to be rooming with Bridget Caldwick”. She gestured for us to pick out the print outs which had our room assignments on them, "Welcome to Chapman.”

Leaving the housing office Wyatt headed left and I headed right to our respective dorms.

I knocked on the door rhythmically and giddily waited for it to open. A blond girl opened the door with an annoyed look, "What?" "I'm Wendy your new roommate," I said holding out my hand.

She grew more annoyed so I withdrew my hand, "Can I come in?" I asked cautiously, she rolled her eyes "I guess."

She moved aside and let me in; and was immediately greeted by a tall beach blond guy with a light brown tan. His eyes were a dark shade of brown, fierce and edgy. There was something soft about them though, pouty in a way, you noticed if you looked long enough. It was as if, the fierceness was just a facade, to deter the onlooker from figuring out what he was about.

"I'm Jake" he said holding out his hand "Wendy," I answered shaking it.

"See you later Bridget," he said closing the door loudly behind him.

"He is mine" Bridget growled.

I smirked "it's his choice."

Smoke came out of her ears "Jake is mine, always has been, and always will be ".

I crossed my arms to challenge her but before I could reply, someone knocked on the door. Bridget opened it, in the doorway stood two girls. One had long strawberry blonde hair, and the other had shoulder length black hair. The white girl was tall with long legs; she was wearing a pink mini skirt and a green tank the colour of her eyes. The black girl was about my height, wearing black skinny jeans, and a baby blue long sleeved shirt with the name Roxy across it. "Ready?" the white one asked, Bridget nodded and grabbed her purse off her desk.

I placed my purse on what I assumed was my bed, "Those are super cute" the black girl said. She made her way to the purses the white girl followed her "wow” she said.

Bridget made a face "knock offs.”

The black one put the bags down "don't mind her; I'm Roxy" she pointed to the name on her shirt "and that's Charlotte".

"What's your name?" Charlotte asked.

"Wendy."

"Do you need help unpacking?" Roxy asked. Bridget shot her a threatening look.

"Sure why not?"

"Um Roxy did you forget that we have yoga?" Bridget asked.

Charlotte lifted my suitcase onto my bed, "what is one day going to do, and besides I am pretty sure that the Niners are going to be glad you skipped". I stifled a laugh.

Roxy squealed, "You are so lucky," she said.

I turned to her, in her hands rested a stack of pictures of Wyatt and I on the beach. The picture on top was of Wyatt and I at the beach taking a selfie. I remembered that day it had started out so well but then ended up being one of my worst. I had locked myself in the bathroom at Star Bucks and had refused to get out. Wyatt had had to spell me to get me out.

"He is so hot," Roxy, said looking through the pictures.

Charlotte peeked over Roxy's shoulder "hottie lamottie with a swimmers body."

"He is so sexy, Wendy. You are very lucky; the guys around here are so ugly."

"Um hello" Bridget placed a hand on her hip.

"Except Jake" Roxy said rolling her eyes.

"Roxy is right, good thing you have your own. Better stay protected" Charlotte winked at me.

What?

“Can we go now?” Bridget barked out.

“Sure whatever your majesty” Charlotte muttered under her breath.

After they left I started to unpack my stuff, I took out the rest of the pictures of Wyatt then used my magic to send my clothes into the wardrobe to save myself the work.

After I settled into what was to be my room for the next 3 months, I looked at myself in the bathroom mirror, seeing the frightened little fifteen-year-old standing over him, baffled at the sight. A tear slid down from my left eye making my mascara run.

Wendy you promised I heard my brother say.

 Sorry I replied.

If it makes you feel better, I promise that I will see you through these three months, until the end.

Our mind messaging was supposed to be on a halt, we were supposed to be learning how to live without telepathically talking to one another. I didn’t think that was possible, even though he was my brother and we fought, Wyatt kept me grounded. He told me what I needed to hear, not what I wanted to, he was the one who kept me sane all these years.

A knock on the door broke me out of my thoughts. I wiped my tears with some toilet paper and put a fake smile on my face going to open the door. "Hi I have a package for Bridget," the guy said.

He wore white shorts with a navy blue t-shirt; his stature about 6"2. His hair was trimmed down to the bare minimum, but the little that remained could be made out as chestnut brown. I looked into his eyes and was instantly mesmerized. They were warm, and sweet, like a puddle of melted chocolate.

"Thanks" I said forcing myself to break free of his gaze. I took the brown box that had Bridget's name inscribed all over it from his hands and signed his clipboard. As I handed it back to him the corners of his lips formed into a smile.

"You're new here?"

"Yeah I just got here today"

"Matthew"

"Wendy"

"Sorry"

"What for?"

"You're rooming with Bridget Caldwick"

"Ooh"

"Yeah she makes the wicked witch of the west look like Casper"

I laughed, "Yeah I have realized".

"Well I have another package to deliver so I guess I will see you around."

"Yeah sure." He turned and as he walked his feet following a specific rhythm, I realized that he was the hottest I have ever seen since "him."
