Seeing her picture stirred up deep gut wrenching memories. I had not opened that page up in a long time but Wendy had managed to and now all the feelings I had buried deep inside me were peeking out little by little.

"Wyatt I never knew... you never," Wendy, said standing up.

I shook my head chuckling, "well nobody ever asked".

She walked up to me and gave me a hug, in usual senses I would have pushed her away but in that moment, I needed her embrace more than anything.

"What happened?" she asked her voice muffled by my shirt.

        "Doesn't matter,"

She pulled away and gave me questioning look, "she's not living," I said.

Wendy let out a breath, "how'd she die?"

"Wendy I said she wasn't living I never said she was dead."

        Her eyes went wide "why?"

"She needed it," I took a seat on the edge of my bed.

        "Tell me" she prodded.

I closed my eyes and began telling what had happened. I had always kept it a secret, never once told anybody, but I knew its was time to get it off my chest.

"She was a siren. I never knew until the day she turned sixteen. Stuff happened every time she put on her sunglasses, when I found out; she promised to stop wearing them. But, there was like a force that stopped her from stopping. She tried her best but she always went back to the glasses.

"One day I got a call from her and all she said was 'can’t stop', so I dropped everything and went to search for her. I was with dad that day so it was difficult, but I managed to lose him for a while. I could not find her anywhere. So I hid away and used my magic to try and locate her. I couldn't. There was something blocking me. In desperation I let out my vampire side and used my senses to find her. They led me to a deserted garge. I was about to leave when I spotted a figure huddled in a corner. I rushed to it saying her name; she raised her head, and a chill ran down my spine as I met her eyes. They looked like that of a snake's, bright yellow, with a black pupil that looked like a Pac man.

""Annie" I had said again slowly, 'I didn't mean to' she said, she pointed to her sunglasses and screamed 'those things are what's caused all of this I hate them'. She was standing up now looking around herself, I followed her gaze and when I met it, I weakened in the knees. Three bodies lay on the ground, two were hurt the other was dead. I pulled her into my arms "it's okay, I'll help you", she shook her head and pulled away 'Wyatt you have to kill me'. I stared at her as if she was crazy but she had it all planned, she pulled out a dagger and handed it to me. I stared wide-eyed at the weapon then at her. She pleaded with me to do it. 'I can't do it, Annie. I can't lose you,I love you'.

"'I love you too Wyatt that's why you have to do this' she wrapped my fingers around the dagger and nodded. I raised it as tears fell from my eyes, but I dropped it. I told her that I would change her into a vampire and that maybe the change would kill the siren in her. Even though being a vampire and siren were both evil, being a vampire was the lesser of the two.

"She agreed I knew she would, she was sixteen there was no way she was ready to die. I bit into my arm to change her but a hand grabbed mine and pulled me away from her.

"It was dad, I told him about Annie and how I had to change her to save her and he told me that if I changed her, I would kill her because I was not fully a vampire yet. He agreed to do it, as long as I wouldn't tel mom.

"We turned back to Annie and saw her reaching for her shades. She grabbed them and put them on 'I don't want to' she cried. One of the people that had been injured rose to their feet and began running for the exit. After a few steps he dropped to the floor dead.

"I screamed in horror as she grabbed the dagger and staked herself in the chest, missing her heart by a few inches. I rushed to her side and held her she mouthed I love you and closed her eyes but before I could react dad was already giving her blood. I took out the dagger and saw her wound closing up, her chest rose but her eyes remained closed.

"Sirens sounded nearby, dad told me to go but how could I leave her. Then Annie's eyes flung open, they were cold and dead, she stared and me I touched her face and she tried to touch mine but she couldn’t move. The police sirens got louder 'GO' dad yelled louder, I pressed into her hand a blue topaz necklace I had seen in the mirror display of Tiffany's, it had instantly reminded me of her dazzling eyes. I kissed the back of her hand and began to run. She moaned and I looked back, dad was giving her more blood to sustain her. That was the last time I ever saw the woman I love".
