Wednesday, 8th September...
I hurried into the school and ran into my class. I quickly sat down, breathing hard, phew! Still in time. Two seconds later, the science teacher, Miss. Seo came in. She didn't look like she was in a good mood today. I unpacked.
Miss. Seo was going on and on about all this science terms in Korean and I just couldn't keep up with my crap Korean. Last night drifted back into me again; Park Jae Wook asked me out! I don't know if I should, even if he said I have no choice. Who is he to force me? I gazed at the bear's head which I brought along to school for some reason.
Let's see...
Park Jae Wook is hot... and arrogant.
Smart! ... and demanding.
He's a black belt in Judo! ... So he can kick my ass.
Protective! Unpredictable and ignorant at the same time.
Rich! And up himself.
Hmm.... For every pro there is a con.
I can't date him. It won't last long... plus I'll be going back to Australia soon. It's better never to start. I admit, the thought of not being able to start with him is a pity. I may like him, but that's all I can do.
"KWON YURA", Miss. Seo said loudly into my ear.
I pulled away from her and snapped back into reality.
"Well?" she tested.
I looked around to the fairies in the back corner for help. Da Ni mouthed something to me but I couldn't tell what she was saying properly.
Ah, yes, I think I know what she said.
I stood up and said my answer out loud, "The sun."
There was silence for a moment then everyone burst out laughing. I looked to the fairies (who were all laughing) searching for an answer.
Tae Hee tried to explain but she was laughing too hard.
"I asked what you think is needed during sexual intercourse to produce the beginnings of a baby", Miss. Seo answered me.
SHOOT ME. I sat down and literally buried my head into the table.
"That was put in very simple terms already and you still didn't understand. You're living proof of Asian bimbos. Only the looks", Miss. Seo said.
I felt blood rushing to my face. I'm an exchange student and she knows that. She's taking advantage of the fact that I can't tell anyone I'm from Australia. No one bullies Kwon Yura like that.
"Is that why you're so intelligent, Miss. Seo?"
That did it.
---
It's lunch and I'm kneeling on the grass in the glazing sun holding onto my ears. Unfair. She punished me for getting back at her, but then again, I'm lucky she didn't report it to the principal. The only reason she didn't do that is because she had insulted me first and would get in trouble too. Stupid teacher.
Mi Mi told me that Miss. Seo has just been dumped by her boyfriend of 10 years for a younger model. No wonder she was so moody. And Da Ni said that the thing she was trying to tell me was: I don't know, don't look at me.
I told the fairies to go or else they'll get into trouble for accompanying me. I'm thirsty and tired.
Just when I felt like I could kill for water, a bottle appeared in front of me. Without even thinking, I grabbed it and drank the whole thing down in one go. I wiped my mouth and looked happily at the person who had given it to me. To my surprise, it was Jae Wook. He smiled and kneeled down next to me.
