I froze to the spot with a distorted face. "Huh?"
"Well...?" Dong Wook asked looking at me nervously.
I'm too dazed stupid with his request to think straight. "Huh?"
"Can you?" He persisted.
I shook my head. This can't be happening. I pinched my cheeks. Ouch, it does hurt. "Yah, Shin Dong Wook, are you asking me to two-time on your best friend?"
Dong Wook's face became even more retarted than mine. "I didn- wait, did I forget to say 'pretend'?"
"What?"
"I meant to ask you if you could please pretend to be my girlfriend."
I exhaled feeling relieved. "Yah! Your wording is worst than mine."
"Sorry... but I really need this favour."
I inclined my head to the side a little. "Why?"
"I have a girlfriend", he stated.
"Really? That's great! Who is she? Wait, then why do you need me to pretend if you have a real one?"
This is confusing.
"I can't tell you who she is yet, but my grandparents found out about her and they want to see her. I told her but she's too nervous, she wouldn't do it", Dong Wook explained.
"Wouldn't your grandparents understand that though?"
"I promised them already, and they're really excited about meeting her."
"They'd be more disapoointed later though..."
"I can fix it later, right now, my grandfather is feeling ill. I want to cheer him up", Dong Wook said earnestly.
"Did you tell your girlfriend about your grandpa's illness?"
"No. I don't want to make it out as if I'm pressuring her."
No wonder she didn't agree to do it you dumbo! But I guess he does have a point...
"Then why me?" I questioned.
"Because, my grandma's hoping it's you", he stated.
Right... not getting it. "I only met her once", I said.
"You're the only girl who's been in my house recently", Dong Wook said.
"You call that recent?"
"Compared to never before? Yep."
I studied Dong Wook. His head hung lower than usual, and his face looked like the toilets would be a great help to him right now. I saw a lump pass down his throat. Why not do a good deed before I leave Korea? After all, it was Dong Wook that came up with the stupid plan to reunite me with Jae Wook.
"OK. I'll be your fake girlfriend."
Dong Wook smiled and jumped up. "YES! Thank you Yura! It's only once!!!"
"I agreed but you can't let anyone else know about this, especially Jae Wook. He wouldn't like it... you saw how he doesn't like sharing his most beloved."
Dong Wook nodded. "You mean like his car and Ki Tae?"
"Hmm..."
"You know your value to him", Dong Wook speculated.
I nodded. "Yes, I do."
Here it goes...another risky task. Why the hell do I always manage to let myself be in such situations?
