Come morning, I was so exhausted that I felt like a zombie. I couldn't focus in class whatsoever. It is lunch now and I can't remember a thing about my last two classes. All I know, is that my body was in History of magic and Charms but my mind wasn't. It was up in the clouds. I still have Herbology and DADA (Defense Against the Dark Arts.) today. I have been so tired lately that I missed the latest and biggest news. Ten death eaters escaped Azkaban. I haven't kept up to date lately with what is supposedly going on with the Dark Lord. I probably should. There is a magazine that has been banned from the school called The Quibbler. A girl a grade under me named Luna Lovegood is the daughter of the man who does this magazine. There have been a lot of rumors going around that have just now reached my ears. Apparently, Harry Potter did an interview with that magazine and that is why it is banned. In it he tells what happened last year at the Triwizard tournament and how Cedric Diggory died. Draco and his gang are talking about it now. They are furious because Harry stated in his interview who the death eaters were and they included Malfoy's father, Crabbe's father and Goyle's father. I'm not sure what to think right now.
"Professor Umbridge is furious." Says Emily.
"Yeah, she's kind of scary." Says Lydia thoughtfully.
"And you're just noticing that now?" I ask trying to snap out of my dreaming.
"Well it was hard to be angry with her before when she was doing all that nasty stuff to Harry Potter and his house." She answers.
"Well I think she's a mean old troll and deserves what's coming to her."
Lydia shrugs and continues eating her lunch.
"Umbridge really hates half humans..." Emily mutters.
"Hmm?"
"She hates half bloods. Like centaurs, vampires, and werewolves. Firenze is a nightmare to her. I bet he won't last long," Then she whispers her next sentence to me, "Be careful around her."
I nod but don't say too much else.
While we head to class, I notice the girls are giving each other funny gestures and looks.
"Okay, what's up?"
"Welllllll..." Says Marie, "We need to tell you something. Draco likes you."
"We think. But the problem with him is, he doesn't confide in anyone." Says Lydia
Emily finishes for them, "What we mean is, if you like him Rose, you're going to have to be the one to peruse him. I don't think he really trusts or opens up to anyone. I partly blame his parents, he doesn't seem to have been given much love growing up so it is probably foreign to him."
"I do like him."
"Good! Show him then. I'm sure he needs it, not for his gigantic ego, but for his cold heart." She says with a bit of a laugh.
"What makes you think he likes me?"
"Well, for one, he is a lot nicer when you're around, and two, he is constantly stealing glances at you. Always looking both curious and in awe." Answers Lydia.

When I finally get to DADA, it turns out that Emily was right. Umbridge is very suspicious of me already. After class she asks me to stay. A feeling of utter dread fills me. She wants information no doubt. She would have heard rumors of me seeing vampires.
"So," She begins in her shrilly voice, "You were attacked by vampires? Take a seat dear."
I sit down automatically.
