Epilogue

I came across Draco and his family on my way out of the castle. They seemed so lost and alone. I felt bad but I know they deserved it. If they were lucky, they would get off on a good note and avoid prison. Draco had looked at me with a knowing look, we shared so many memories, both good and bad.... but mostly bad. The look of relief on his face was all I needed to see. We were going to be okay. I had walked by them and gave them a sad smile while my hand was in Illaynous's. I don't know what I had with Draco before, but I know it's over. At the time, we both needed that. It kept us going for a while, but it wasn't love, therefore, it wasn't enough. I just wish the poor boy all the success in the world. 

It's been a year since the final battle for Hogwarts. I live in Snape's old house. Hearing of his death and how he died almost killed me. He was my second father, he was my teacher and mentor. His house was left to me as he has no children to take it. I live there now with Faye and my husband, Illaynous. We try to act civil but thankfully, we are on the outskirts of town and can easily go for a family hunting trip. 

Many people have asked me if I regret marrying young, but I don't. I was almost 19 by this time and even though we're still technically in the 'honeymoon stage', everything is looking up for once in my life. Faye attends Hogwarts now, learning magic. It turns out that us vampires have a very good magical capability. Faye didn't know she could even use magic until she accidently set the tree on fire in our backyard. I am just hoping my own children have the same magic as Illaynous and I. Illaynous has been teaching me to tap into that 'pure magic' inside me. It's so cool, really. I can even make my own eyes glow now! 

I gave my grandfather's house to Caelum since he is likely to marry next. Did I mention he has a thing for Emily? Well anyways, Lucas and Ariella live with their daughter, Vera in my old mansion. Charlotte is residing in Azkaban but somehow Serah and Zemira were let off the hook but are to stay out of trouble. They're currently travelling the world with three other vampires that joined them back in their recruiting days. Serah hasn't completely moved on from Bruce's death and I am beginning to think she will never find another vampire. That is just who she is. Zemira on the other hand, flirts with every man and vampire male to cross her path....

Finally, Lydia and Marie are taking up important careers in the wizarding world. Marie is training to become a healer which is perfectly suited to her kind and caring heart. Lydia on the other hand is working for the ministry as a Magical Accidents and Catastrophes Official.  

I guess happy endings are achievable to a degree. We make our own happy endings and this far, this is the happiest ending I could end up with. I have a family that loves me, friends that care for me, and a life of constant adventure! The only question left is, what adventure will drop by next?
