I couldn't help but look forward to my study session with Draco. I think I overdid the perfume but other than that I felt beautiful the time Emily and I finished picking out clothes and fixing my little makeup. Emily French braided my long black hair but it still reached my thighs. She wouldn't stop giggling and it was starting to annoy me so I made a quick escape from her teasing and headed to the tree. I got there a bit early and Draco wasn't there yet so I got my favourite book out and hid behind its old crinkled pages.

"What are you reading this time?" He asks.

Startled, I put my book down.

"Oh, hello!"

Ugh that sounded too happy. He smirks and sits beside me.

"I see you are doing better today."

"Yes I am." I recall last night and my success with resisting the vampire instincts.

Today I managed to actually look alive. Last time was a horrible experience. I hadn't recovered well.

"That's good."

We actually did a bit of studying before he asked me any serious questions which I knew he would.

"So where do you stay during the holidays?"

"Here."

"You don't have a home to go to? No grandparents or anything?"

"No, we have some family but they live pretty far away. We never kept in touch with my mum's side."

"Oh. You should stay at my place sometime. I'm sure you'd feel at home. We have a large mason. Your house was pretty big wasn't it?"

"Yep."

I closed and packed up my books knowing that we weren't going to study anymore.

"I don't mean to pry but why is your father in Azkaban? You don't have to tell me and I definitely won't tell Pansy if you do." He says.

"His sentence was for the murder of two innocent wizards."

"Do you think he actually did it?"

"Yes, but it was an accident and he was unfairly imprisoned."

"Ah, okay."

We both sat back against the tree and watched other students fooling around outside. It was a nice peaceful moment. Both of us deep in thought. I pulled my knees to my chest and wrapped my arms around them not noticing how my sleeve pulled up a bit to reveal one of my nasty old scars. Draco noticed however,

"What's that?" He asks reaching over and gently touching the scar.

Shocked that he noticed I sit up and pull my sleeve lower.

"Um, just an old scar."

"That's kinda cool though. Where'd you get it?"

"From myself actually," I say faking a laugh, "I'm not the most graceful person."

He smirks and stands up offering me a hand which I gratefully take.

"Let's head to the common room, shall we?"

"Thanks! This was fun."

"Yeah, it was."

He agrees with a little smile and I follow him back. From there we split off with our friends and Emily demands I tell her everything.

The week had been going great until today. Everything was going well, I was doing better with controlling myself at night and Snape said that eventually I could start training to use my unique vampire abilities. Now however, Professor Umbridge is yelling at me in front of the class for not paying attention. Again.
