Later, I find Draco off seething in anger in the room of requirement. I guessed he'd be here since he seems to spend a lot of time here and it's private.

"How'd you get in here?" He asks confused.

I give him a sad half smile, "I was just searching for something."

He looks confused for a second but then catches on, "Oh. Didn't know it could work that way."

"I suppose if I were a threat to you, it wouldn't work."

"Maybe."

....

"Heard Harry accused you of cursing Katie."

Draco glares at me coldly, "Yes."

"You know, you don't need to tell me whether you did or not but if you ever need a friend to talk to- one that won't go around saying everything- I'm a good listener."

He looks at me strangely for a second, "Okay."

I look around the comfy room. There are large cushions on the floor and lots of books lining the shelves. The perfect place to get away. It's much different from the vast room full of trinkets I once stored my chest in. Draco looks as if he wants to be left alone but that's not really in my nature. I choose a large purple cushion and flop down on it. He gives me an irritated face and chooses a book from the shelf. After a while, Draco speaks up again sounding happier than before.

"When you woke up in the hospital wing, I swear your eyes were red."

I look over at him and say nothing.

"Listen, you don't have to tell me anything either but I know something's up with you. Just answer me this, is this problem you have, why you stayed invisible all these years?"

I open and shut my mouth like a blubbering fish, "I.. well.. you see... um, yeah, it is."

"Does Emily know?"

"Yes."

"Oh."

We sit awkwardly. Should I tell him? I suppose I'd have to ask first. I don't think Professor Snape would let me though. He'll just have to figure it out on his own.

"Sorry, I would tell you, but I'm not allowed."

"It's your life."

"Yes Draco, I know."

So we spent half of the Saturday afternoon chilling in the Room of Requirement. We would once and a while talk about our classes and other things but we didn't bring up anything too personal.

"So what are your plans for Christmas?" I ask.

Oddly enough, Draco looked almost as if I had just reminded him of something terrible. I forgot, the Dark Lord will probably be there on and off.

"Not much, I think." He says, "What about you?"

"I don't actually know. I have some family but... they're a bit odd. I can't really say if I want to stay with them or not."

I would like to see Caelum and Serah but I know if I go back to them, Voldemort will want to meet me. He'll want to recruit me. I physically shudder at the thought and quickly spring to my feet,

"Anyway, I had better go."

"Alright. See you later Rose."

"Right."

I stand there for a moment feeling a strange stirring within me. Oh crap, it better not be happening again. Maybe I shouldn't think about my family anymore. I feel the vampire inside me perk up a little. Nope. No. No. No, this isn't happening again. Not if I can help it.
