I sat in the center of HQ in a wheely chair spinning around and around listening to the yelling. Wren was being ripped to shreds in my fathers office and for some reason it hurt to listen. As much as I was angry at Wren, I still liked him and no matter what I was going to have to get rid of it because I dont image Wren will be my bodyguard anymore.
"This is cruel you know." Laken said grabbing a chair from one of the desks. Everyone around us was pretending like they didnt hear the yelling.
"I dont care im angry." I said and kept spinning.
"You always did know how to hold a grudge." He said in a low tone like he didnt want me to hear him. I shot him a glared before stopping my chair.
"Im bored of this, its not worth my time." I said and got to my feet. I was mad and I needed to blow off steam. Once i had gotten home from school I took a shower and then I told my dad what happened.
For now I was going dress shopping with Cassie, the ball was tomorrow and I didnt plan on missing it, though, now i was going stag.

I watched Wren leave the room looking like a mess. I got up and headed over towards him, crossing my arms across my chest. "How did it go?"
"Guess." Wren said glaring at me.
"Wren, i cant blame him. I know that we are friends but i cant protect you when it comes to my sister." I defended and he nodded.
"I dont even know where it went wrong, thigns were fine we were on the same page and then..." I cut him off.
"You know my sister likes you right?" The look he gave me told me that he did not. "She told me, what happened between you guys and she told me what happened at school today." He nodded and looked at his feet. There was somthing inside me that didnt want to give up just yet. I wanted my sister happy and if i was right then he cant loose the game just yet. "Tip, for the future, Nadine, not a good person to converse with."
"Future?" His eyebrow raised. I shrugged and turned towards my fathers office heading in without knocking.
"Dad." I said and sat down in the chair. My father and I were on more professional terms that he and Beverly were. Beverly was his daughter therefore she was always looked at like a prize posession, I however, I've been training to be an agent since i was born pretty much. It made me harder and to be honest this wasnt the life I wanted for Beverly. I wanted her to grow up and live her life to the fullest not traveling around from city to city killing people.
"Laken." My dad smiled before sitting down. "What can I do for you?"
"I want you to give Wren his job back." I said in a calm manner so that he didnt think i was demanding anything.
"I dont think so."
"I do, father you told me that you want me to take over this business one day and for that you need to trust my judgement." I said sitting up straighter. He scoffed and looked around the room licking his lips while he thought.
"Son, i know what I told you but your going to need to give me a better reason than that."
"I have a reason."
"Which is?" He asked leaning back in his chair.
"Dad, have you seen them together?" I asked and he shook his head. "Its only been a week, but beverly likes him, as much as she wont admit it. And Wren likes her to. One day it could even be more and who better to protect her than someone that loves her?" I suggested and he nodded, thinking it over. "And Wren is my friend and as much as I would hate for him to loose his job, you know that i put BEverly over everything else. If i thought that this wasnt going to work out, i wouldnt suggest it."
"But school-" He continued.
"Has gotten a lot better since Wren was there. Remember the first week of school last year?" I asked and he nodded. "Nadine broke her leg, two days after school began, Beverly came home with a broken leg. If you arent going to let her defend herself at school you need to give Wren a chance. So Beverly got into a food fight, big deal, some hurt feelings and ruined clothes was all she got it could have been worse." I mean yeah but Beverly did take action.
"fine." I was not expectig him to give in. I didnt let his answer falter my expession, i didn't need him to think that I doubted my own plan. "Fine, if Wren can get Beverly to forgive him, then he can have his job back." Great that was a peice of work.
Beverly once didnt speak to me for a week because i took one of her dolls. I gave it back but thats not the point. Getting her to forgive him might take some convincing. I nodded and got to my feet. "Not a problem." I lied and left the room. As soon as I was out of his office I let out a huge sigh of relief and looked at Wren who was sitting sitting in HQ.
"What happened?" He asked as I headed for the door.
"Time to do some ass kissin Wren." I smirked.
