I woke up the next morning to the sun shining into the curtain. I was still naked and wrapped in sheets, with a dazed smile on my face. Memories from last night swarmed through my head as I remembered every detail. As shitty as yesterday was, it ended up nicely.

I sat up for a second, trying not to wake up Wren, and looked around. The room was smaller than I remembered, but that was probably because the last time I was here I was eleven and about seven inches shorter. I didn't hit my growth spurt til well in high school.

Sliding out of bed so carefully I made sure I didn't make a sound. I grabbed one of Wrens shirts and my underwear off the floor and slipped them on as I exited the room. I thought about making breakfast but there was literally nothing in the house that was edible at the moment. I headed towards the front door and opened it a crack to see what it was like outside. The brisk fall air hit my nose and I closed it, it was to cold for me to leave any windows open so I figured Id make a fire.

"Beverly?" I heard my name as I got the fire going. Wren walked out of the room wearing nothing but his jeans from last night. He had a lazy smile on his face and his hair was a mess but he had never looked so good.

"Good morning." I said smiling. I stood up as he wrapped he lightly grabbed my face and kissed me again. it didnt last very long but it was every bit as amazing as last night. I grinned as he pulled away.

"Good morning beautiful." He said and smiled. "Im starving, can we go find food?" I shrugged.

"I mean, I really shouldnt be wandering around town in my cheer uniform with my school name on it, so we need to get clothes first. Also we need to get in contact with HQ." I said crossing my arms as he nodded.

"Okay, clothes first. Lets get showered and dressed and we can head into town. Im saying maybe three days worth of clothes and we can call your dad on the way there okay?" I nodded as I headed towards the bathroom.

"You know, its a small cabin. We should probably conserve water." Wren said as I headed away. I grinned, turning back towards him.

"Is this your way of saying we should shower together?" I giggled as he grinned.

  "Im not saying im opposed."

  "Lets go then."

I slide into the car and Wren started the engine. I gave some simple directions on how to get to the town and where everything was located and we took off.

The clothing store wasnt big at all and thank god im a small size but options were limited. I got a few pairs of jeans and they even had a leather jacket. I grabbed a few shirts and some underwear and an extra bra. Wren's shopping cart was a lot smaller than mine but that is because he already had some clothes.

We had decided to eat at some small diner here in town for breakfast since we were both starving. It was easy and cute.

"So, School?" I asked and he shook his head.'

"I dont want to talk about school."

"But Nadine is going to be pissed when she finds out you ditched her at the game."

"She made it home." He joked as I smiled, fiddling with the straw wrapper.

"Yeah but your supposedly dating her-"

"Yeah but I dont want to be." Wren cut me off. "Beverly I dont want to talk about school, literally anything else but that please." I could hear the sadness in his voice. i was hurting him and I knew it. I was causing him pain by making him be with Nadine, he loved me and I was abusing it.

It didnt matter, though family came first. Out here we could be whatever we wanted to be but nothing could change when we got home, we both knew that.

My thoughts were interrupted by the ringing of Wren's cell phone. I quickly answered it, holding it to my ear. "Laken?"

"Why the hell would Laken be calling you?" Nadine's voice snapped from the other end of the phone. "Who the hell is this, wheres Wren?"

I rolled my eyes and handed the phone out to Wren who raised an eyebrow. I mouthed Nadine's name and he groaned. He took the phone out of my hand and just hit end. Not wanting to deal with the conversation. My mouth fell open and I laughed.

"Yeah you are definitely going to catch shit for that one." I said and he shrugged.

"I dont care. Im done dealing with her." He said as our food arrived.

I dug into my food, almost inhaling it I was so hungry. Wren did the same and it only took us about five minutes of silence to finish our food. We weren't ones to doddle.

After we had paid and everything we jumped in the car and I called home. Laken answered the phone on the second ring.

  "Lake, you answered."

"I answered? Bev we have been trying to reach you all night. I was getting ready to drive down to the cabin myself." That wouldnt have been good, i thought as I imagined Laken walking in on Wren and I half naked.

   "Sorry we fell asleep early."

"Whatever, listen is Wren there, put me on speaker." Laken ordered as I pressed speaker and put the phone away from my ear.

    "We are here." Wren said.

"Okay, we think its safe again, but dad wants you guys to stay there until at least tomorrow morning. We caught the guys that were running around the high school, they were early stage spies." That was good news. "So we think that this was mostly just an errand, no one is actually after us, they were just suspicious."

"What did you do to them?" I asked, curious. I felt Wren lock his fingers in mine and I looked up at him. He gave me a soft smile and then looked down back at the phone.

"We took care of them." Meaning they killed them. It was a high protection agency, they had to do what was necessary to stay a secret. We would be dead  if anyone knew where we were, we had to many enemies. To many people pissed because we ruined their plans.

"But its safe to come home now?" I asked.

"Yeah but wait til tomorrow, dad wants to make sure no one else shows up, we have all our men in town right now running around checking things out. So you should be cleared by tomorrow. Also the game has been rescheduled for Monday night."

"Not really worried about the game, man." Wren responded.

"I know but in order to keep up appearances, Beverly will need to be back for it." Laken responded as Wren rolled his eyes. he was not ready to go back to town and I could tell. I felt bad enough as it was. I didn't want to leave our bubble, but I knew we had to go back eventually.

Laken hung over shortly after and we went grocery shopping for our one days worth of food. We mostly just grabbed bread for sandwiches and lunch meat.

We got back to the cabin and I helped unload all our stuff. "Well that was faster than I thought it was going to be." Wren said and i nodded.

"That's good though, means no real danger." I responded.

"I know I'm just not ready to go back yet."

"I know, and I'm sorry." my chest actually hurt from how bad I felt.

Wren stopped for a second and set all his stuff down on the counters before turning to me. "Don't be sorry Beverly, its for the best I understand that. I just hate it that's all."
