Sunday came and went and I stayed hidden in my bedroom. Dad came in to check on me a few times and I played sick so that I didn't have to go to training or do anything for the day I could stay in my room and eat soup all day. It wasn't hard to convince dad I was sick, I never played ill not even to get out of going to hell during the weekdays.

I was tougher than that but I just wanted to stay in bed and not more that day.

However Monday showed up before I knew it. I slept most of sunday so it was no surprise that I was laying wide awake in bed at five am on Monday morning, staring at my ceiling.

I decided to get up at six and do my workouts, might as well work off all the calories I consumed yesterday.

~~

I was standing in front of my mirror making sure everything was ready for school when I heard wrens truck pull into our driveway. I headed downstairs, bouncing on each stair. I could hear light chatter coming from the kitchen as I bounced in.

"Good morning." I said grinned and grabbed a plate for breakfast. Mom usually made us breakfasts especially since Laken is up every morning working out and you need food after you workout. I turned around and stopped, everyone was staring at me.

"What are you wearing?" Wren was the first to speak. I looked down at my outfit, I thought I looked cute. I was wearing shorts with strappy sandals and black bralette that you could slightly see through my white top that ended just before my jean shorts so that it exposed my stomach a little.  "Where are your glasses?"

"Are you wearing makeup?" Laken chimed in.  "Beverly, you cant wear that to school."

"Why not? I already threatened to beat Nadine's ass, might as well break all the rules now." I said as I grabbed an apple and took a bite.

"Beverly." Wrens voice came out in a warning tone.

"I'm done hiding, I'm done guys. I'm seventeen which I know doesn't mean much to you guys but it does to me. I've spent my whole life wearing hideous clothing and wearing fake glasses. No one has to know who I am related to but I am done hiding who I am. End of conversation." I said and set my plate down and left the room. I was expecting their reaction but I didn't care.

I grabbed my backpack and peeked my head back in the kitchen. "Wren, are we going or not?" I asked and he sighed but nodded and grabbed his keys.

   "Lets go."

I jumped in his truck and pulled the mirror down checking my hair which was in a half pony tail on top of my head while the rest fell down to my sides.

"Your father is not going to be happy with this." Wren said and started the car. I shrugged and rolled down the window, buckling up. We took off down the road and I reached over turning on the radio and plugging my phone into the aux cord. I put on a random song and grinned.

It was so nice outside today, I wanted to do something after school like hiking. That was a good idea. "Hey what are you doing after school?" I asked Wren and He shrugged.

"I don't know, what am I doing after school Beverly?" He said and smiled at me. I smiled and pulled my head in the window.

"Hiking, there is a trail not to far from here, we can bring laken and his girlfriend and we can move Training to later. I want to do something fun tonight." I grinned. Wren smirked but nodded.

"I think that can be arranged."

We pulled into the parking lot and I grabbed my bag. "Lets goo." I beamed and jumped out of the car. I was in a really good mood today. I had a different mindset and I was determined to be different today.

wren followed behind me laughing as I plowed through the courtyard and into the building. "Beverly wait." Wren called behind me as he jogged to catch up.

I threw my bag in my locker and grabbed my stuff, and turned to wren. "Your locker?" I asked and he nodded.

We headed down towards his hallway and I began to notice all the stares that were being shot my way. People were giving me dirty looks and death glares, some were staring in awe but It was mostly daggers. Why were people so salty today?

We got to his locker and I heard the oh so familiar clapping of heels. Nadine was headed over here with her minions.

She marched right up and stopped just a foot in front of me. "your a bitch." She snarled, she was getting ballsy, I think she figured out Wren doesn't actually like her.

"Nice to see you to Nadine." I smirked.

"What you think because you finally got a wardrobe that your some sort of badass now?" Her eyebrows furrowed together and she tilted her head with her hands on her hips, her usual stance when she is bitching at me.

She took another step towards me and Wren intervened. "Nadine I suggest you turn around and walk away." Wren said stepping in front of me. I smiled and peeked my head around him to see her glaring.

"What so he is your body guard now? I guess you two are a thing now huh?" Her voice was sharp, like knives.

"Doesn't matter." Wren answered  before I could say anything else. "Leave Beverly alone otherwise ill tell the entire school about your family." for the first time in my life I saw fear in Nadine's eyes. Her posture changed, she tensed up more and took a step back. We were drawing a crowd by now.

"You don't know anything about my family." She called his bluff.

"Really?" He raised his eyebrows. "So you don't have an alcoholic father that likes to take it out on you when he gets drunk?" I couldn't believe the words coming out of Wrens mouth. How did he know all of that, and why was he going to tell everyone about it, that's not something you tell people.

"Don't you fucking dare." Nadine growled.

"Don't make me. Leave Beverly alone." He folded his arms across his chest and she shot one last glare at me before looking around to see half the schools population staring at us.

She didn't say another word, just turned around and stormed off. I let out a sigh of relief as Wren turned to me. "How did you know all of that?"

"I ran a background check on her at HQ." He said in a low tone so no one head it but me. "Apparently, her father was arrested a year ago on domestic charges, he put a knife in Nadine's side that's why she has a tattoo there, to cover up the scar." I knew she had a tattoo but I just assumed she liked it.

"oh my god." I gasped, how did I not know that. Why hadn't I run a background check on her?

"Since then her family has been struggling with cash apparently because they are about to get evicted."

"Okay but Wren, you cant tell other people that." I said in a serious tone. That would be crossing so many lines.

"Of course not." He smiled. "But she doesn't know that." Oh your good. I rolled my eyes as the bell rang, right in time. "Lets go love." He winked  before shoving me in front of him to walk.

I took a seat in the first class and Wren took his seat next to me as class began.
