Tuesday morning rolled around and I was even more unprepared for what was about to unroll. I was catching a ride with Laken again today so that I didnt show up with Wren. He didnt bother to ask questions, he mostly left me alone to figure out my own way around things. He figured girl drama was to much for him to handle.
Our driver dropped us off in our usual spots and I walked my way back to the school. I watched as Wrens truck pulled into the parking lot and he jumped out with his usual smile on his face. He scanned the parking lot until his eyes locked with mine, for a brief second. I pulled the doors open and made my way towards my locker.
"Have you heard the news?" I heard some girls whispering a few feet from my locker. "Wren is going to ask Nadine to Homecoming. Apparently he was texting her all last night." They whispered, moving their heads closer so they could talk more.
He was doing as told.
The first bell rang and I headed towards my first period, which unfortunately had Nadine and Wren in it. Taking my seat I scanned the room for his familiar face but came up empty handed. Not here yet I suppose.
"Good morning class." The teacher boomed as she walked into the room. The second bell rang singling the beginning of first period. Right behind her, Wren stumbled in, along with Nadine. She shot me a glare before sitting down right next to me.
"Whats wrong smeverly, mad you lost?" she snickered as I rolled my eyes. This was going to be more difficult than I thought but it would get easier, once I got home out of my head.
Lunch took a longer time than it should have, classes were dragging, the entire day was dragging and I couldn't seem to get my head out of the clouds, I wanted to go home. i wanted to switch schools or drop out. I wanted everything to go back to normal, before he arrived. I grabbed my food and headed for the outside world. I found myself a tree and parked under it as I pulled out a book to read while i ate.
the peace was nice, no noise, no loud students as they grumbled about the latest gossip, everything was nice and quiet. Until Dylan showed up.
"Hey girl." She grinned as she sat down. I raised an eyebrow but went along with it.
"Hey, whats up?" I asked, putting my book down and sitting up a bit more.
"Nothing to major, thought I would come hang out with you today. I saw you headed out this way with your bag." She said with a soft smile. i dont think Dylan had a bad bone in her body. I nodded and picked up my sand which. "So have you gone homecoming dress shopping yet? I was going to this weekend with some other cheer girls if you wanted to join me."
"I dont think im going to homecoming this year." I said as I wrinkled my nose. I had always hated homecoming, i had never gone before why start now?
"Oh? I thought Wren had asked you?" She said and I shook my head.
"Wren and I are just friends, and barely that. I think he is taking Nadine." She frowned at my response, adjusting her legs so she was more comfortable.
"You guys seemed really good together last night, what happened?"
"Just some bullshit, nothing to be concerned with. He and I are still friends, I'm just not a big fan of Nadine, and with him and homecoming, I wouldn't be surprised if they began dating soon after." I told the truth, kinda. That was the next course of action for them, dating. I never wanted a babysitter anyways.
"Oh, man I really thought you two would end up together. So did Laken." She grumbled before taking a bite of whatever the cafateria was serving. It didnt look good if you asked me.
