Trigger Warning: Suicide

----------

A WAY TO THE LANDS OF TORTURE

Jason made his way across the forest. The war between the Giants and the gods was finally over. He couldn't believe that the world is now safe and is now peaceful again. Yet, after all he had done, he too couldn't believe how and why the love of his life— Piper McLean— would choose to leave him.

He remembered several months ago. . . Leo was shouting, "Alright ladies! Leo approves for Team Jiper!" As he hopped along the crowd. They were having the trip in Grand Canyon.

Jason smiled. The days he had with Piper were full of happiness. He realized that the day he confessed to Piper was the happiest moment of his entire life. Piper promised him, and he promised her, that neither of them would leave each other. That they would walk together holding each other's hands and fight against all odds. That nothing would come between them. That nothing would separate the two of them— not even the gods.

Jason took a deep breath, picking up a small wood stick within the grassy ground. He knelt down and soon realized that he was just by the cliff. The sea was currently building giant waves, and those waves almost reached the tall cliff. Jason felt some water splash onto his face. He smelt the scent of sea salt settling on his face.

Why would Piper even do, such a thing?

"Yes, why would she even do such a thing?" Jason whispered, intentionally breaking the stick into pieces with one hand. He seemed to feel nothing at all. Nothing.

His heart felt heavy, but he did not feel lonely. No matter how much he wanted to scream so badly, no sound came out. He couldn't speak clearly. It was like the sea was drowning him, the waters consuming his body; his lungs bursting until they no longer function.

Jason wondered what would it be like if he did. But somehow, a part of him wanted to stay still. He didn't want to leave his friends, even if it meant that he wouldn't be able to see Piper— in Elysium. He wanted to ask Nico if he could, but the son of Hades was at the other side of the world with Hazel and Frank. They probably decided to leave Camp Jupiter for a while and go to the Far East to take a vacation.

It was four o'clock in the morning. The sun wasn't rising yet, and the cold wind remained still. Jason felt his breathing getting heavier. He hardly slept in the cabin. Every single day passed, he couldn't sleep properly. He kept on having insomnias, and there were now a tint of black eye bags under his blue hues.

Somehow, he felt like his soul was halfway to the underworld. He gaped towards the edge of the cliff. The sound of the ocean was getting more violent, its waves crashing onto the batholiths. Maybe, just maybe, those relentless and violent currents could kill anything, anytime.

Slowly, Jason stood up, stepping forward and more, until he was now standing at the edge of the bluff. He stared down at the ocean. It was dark blue. Since he was now near to the waters, more drops of sea water splashed onto him.

He thought of how those currents could kill someone simply. How fast were they? How much time would it take to get killed by strong currents?

Without any hesitation, Jason stepped forward. His eyes closed.

He felt nothing at first.

Eventually, the waters touched his skin. In less than a second, he felt those violent waters enveloping him. He opened his eyes, and instantly, the salt water hurt his eyes. He forced his eyes open. Slowly, his heavy breathing became more heavier than ever. He wanted to come back to the surface, but then, it was too late.

Jason stopped his breathing. He had nothing to do at all. It was useless. The end of his life began by pitch black welcoming his sight.

A few moments passed, and there was silence. He now could tell that his soul— has left its body. Jason went to touch himself, but he felt nothing as if he was a ghost. That was it; he wouldn't feel anything anymore. He was sure that his body was now being brought anywhere underwater.

"So you decided to commit suicide, Jason Grace?" A voice spoke behind him.

Jason quickly turned around and saw nothing but darkness. Silence was all around him, except for a female voice talking to him.

"Do you really think that doing so would make your life easier? I'm telling you, son of Jupiter, ending your life by yourself is the greatest mistake you've ever done. As such, I have nothing to do with it. But it was your choice anyway," you said. Suddenly, there was a loud crackle. Jason now saw that place— the inverted Elysium— the Fields of Punishment. You crackled a smile. "Jason Grace, congratulations. You've made it to the Fields of Punishment."

Jason wanted to shrink. He chose the wrong way. And now a beautiful young lady with a ghostly aura was leading him to the Fields of Punishment. The son of Jupiter realized, he had no escape, since he intentionally escaped himself.
