i drowned within the ocean of nostalgia
my lungs filled with the old words i never said
my eyes burned as our moments etched themselves behind my lids
my ears rung with your bittersweet words
my throat swallowed the butterflies you caused
my breath held itself while the buzzing ran through my ears
my tears made the water saltier
my body searched for yours in the tumultuous sea
my soul stayed adrift
and so you came crashing,
