you made my world black and white, but happiness snuck up behind me and handed me yellow. the rest of the colors followed as you leaked out of my life.
lightning crackled and thunder rolled, the shadows on our faces darkened to their blackest shades. time heaved to a slow stop, memories clawed their way to the top as our eyes fell upon each other.
but that was only for a second, of course.
the connection was broken, just like us. the warmth of happiness returned to my heart, it was not gone for long. the sun shone bright, just as it should. my soul was content again, it fit right back into place.
guess you could not defeat me like you used to.
