Say something- A great big world
The moment I open the front door am hit by a strong scent of alcohol and cigarette. The place is full and loud, most of them already wasted. I get my iphone from my purse And text Jessica.
*Where are you?
*In the kitchen ;-)She answers almost immediately. I try to squeeze my way to the kitchen. As I pass through the living room and spot Amanda roughly making out with this guy who looks slightly familiar but I can't quite remember where I saw him....geez get a room. "Is everyone having fun tonight!" Max, my classmates shouts from the top of his lungs while standing on the living room table and the crowd responds with screams and hoots.
"Music! Music! Music!!" A guy from the dinning area starts shouting and the rest of the crowd follows in and for a moment it feels like am drowning in the brouhaha. I need to get to the kitchen, suddenly Trey song's bottoms up song goes blasting from the speakers and the crowd goes hysterical.
The atmosphere is infectious and I find myself moving to the beat. This feels so relaxing I contemplate on having parties everyday. For a moment all thoughts of my mum and the final exams have completely dissipated. I feel huge hands creeping to my waist from behind me and I turn angrily ready to send off whoever it is . Instead my eyes land on this light skinned, handsome looking guy smirking at me....bless me, who would blow off a face like that?
I smile back at him and he pulls me close. "You look mighty fine sugar, what's your name?", he whispers directly at my right ear. His breathe of mint and liquor lingers. "Scarlett, you?" I whisper back. "A beautiful name for a beautiful girl, am Alex." He says seductively and my heart melts in response. I run my hands round his neck and to my surprise he starts to dirty dance, pressing me tightly against him. I think of stopping him but in all honesty....I like him. He twirls me twice and pulls me back, my back against his chest.....smooth.
His right hand is firmly holding my waist and his left hand over my chest, his fingers sprawled around my neck. We move in sync with the beat.
It feels so nice when someone pays attention to, wants to be with you, not because you've force them but on their on volition. When someone wants you for who you are not for what You have. I don't know this guy and I don't know if he knows me but I really just want to live this moment.
He twirls me again and when he pulls me back we are pressing each other chest to chest. Suddenly it's like everyone's vanished and we are the only ones in the room. I stare deep into his black eyes and I can't help but notice his thick and finely sculptured eyebrows, short but straight nose and fine full lips. This Alex guy is quite the looker. He stares at my lips and slowly lowers his head.....holy cow, he's going to kiss me. He looks back at my eyes seeking approval and I nod.
Just as our lips were about to touch, someone bumps into me from behind, and we stumble backwards, shit! Only then do I realise the room is packed full and everyone's dancing to some dancehall music I haven't heard of yet. I look at Alex and find his apologetic eyes on me. "Let's get out of here." He says as he pulls me towards the back door. I notice everyone's holding a blue paper cup and I realise I haven't had a drink. "I think I need a drink." I shout over the music. "Let's go to the kitchen I'll get you something" he shouts back.
As we get in the kitchen someone pulls me back. "Who's that guy?" Jessica shouts trying to get a better view of him. "He's Alex, we just met... Awesome party by the way!" I tell her but she doesn't look too pleased, "are you kidding me? Half of these guys are gatecrashers I just hope they won't steal anything." If she doesn't know Alex it means she didn't invite him, come to think of it ,I've never seen him at our school. "Ladies..." Alex hands us both with blue paper cups.
