The Love Through Silence

Chapter 17

It is the day they leave Iceland to go back to New York. They packed all their things and double checked that they had everything. Magnus then created a portal, first putting all their bags in first then he and Alec went back to their apartment in Brooklyn. They put their bags away, got the gifts and souvenirs and went to the Institute. They walked in holding hands and went to go find everyone. After a while of searching, they found Isabelle, Jace and Clary in the training room. As soon as Izzy saw them come into the room, she squealed and ran to hug them. “OMG HOW WAS IT? TELL ME EVERYTHING!” Jace walked up to them “You do have to tell us some of the things you two did but please, I beg of you, leave some things out. I know what happened, you don’t need to remind me and tell everyone.” Jace shuddered and everyone started to laugh while Alec turned a bright shade of red. Magnus then told them to all come to their place later that day so they can tell stories of what they did and give them their gifts. They left them and went to Alec’s parents, now also Magnus’ parent in laws. They invited them over too and to Alec’s surprise, they both said yes. They had almost everyone, all they needed was Simon, Raphael, Maia, and Luke. They went over to the DuMort and asked if both Simon and Raphael to come. Simon was really happy to see them “Of course I’m coming, I’m always up for a party!” Raphael rolled his eyes at Simon’s excitement but agreed to come as well. They were at the Jade Wolf a few minutes later to ask Luke and Maia. They didn’t expect a full party to be happening the day they came back, but nonetheless they were still ecstatic.
They were at their apartment quickly trying to get things ready for their guests. Alec went to get the gifts for every one and laid them out on the table. An hour later, they all started to arrive. Alec’s parents came first with Jace and Isabelle. They exchanged hugs and went to sit down on the couch while Magnus went to go get the camera. He set up the TV to show everyone the many, many pictures they took. Clary then came with Simon, followed by Luke, and Maia. Raphael came later that night because of the sun. Once everyone was sitting down, Magnus took Alec’s hand and started to put the pictures on a slide show for everyone to see. Magnus and Alec both commentated stories of what they did at each picture. Isabelle looked so happy, occasionally squealing every time she saw Alec smiling. Before the accident, it would be almost impossible to get Alec to smile in pictures unless he was with Magnus. Alec was signing and Magnus was translating. “I love that picture! That was from our first night there.” Jace shuddered and Alec looked over at him. “What’s wrong?” “Oh nothing Alec, it’s just I know a little more than I should about your first night and a few other nights.” Alec’s parents looked horrified. Izzy looked happy as usual and Simon, Clary, Raphael, Maia, and Luke caught on to what Jace was referring to a few moments after. As the photos continued to play, they came across a lot of them from the hot springs. “Why so many hot springs pictures? How long were you there?” Izzy asked. “Well these are my favourite ones because the ground was wet and sandy, so Alexander’s chair couldn’t go on it. So instead of portalling there, we walked. We took a lot of breaks, so we had time to take a lot of pictures. We were only in the springs for about an hour, it got cold pretty fast.” Said Magnus. “Wait Alec, you walked there?” Jace asked. “Yeah, it was long and exhausting, but I did it. Well not the entire way, after a while, Magnus carried me.” Alec signed. “It was your second day there right?” “Yeah, why?” “Cause that day I was absolutely exhausted I could barely even walk I was so tired.” “Makes sense, I lost the feeling in my legs from the walking and the water for almost the rest of the day.” “Are you okay now though?” Isabelle asked with worry on her face. “Yeah, I’m good. Don’t worry Iz.”
When the photos stopped playing, Magnus went to get the gifts for everyone. He gave some of them to Alec to give to them. First they gave their gifts to their best mans and thanked them for being their best mans. Then they gave Alec’s parents and gave everyone else’s gifts to them. They were all so happy and gave Alec and Magnus a hug. They then had dinner and filled Magnus and Alec what they missed while they were gone. They talked for hours even after they were done eating. They went to the couch on the balcony and looked at the New York skyline. Alec stood up and held Magnus’ hand. “This is just like Iceland, but better now that we are with everyone.” Alec smiled and Magnus said “Yes it is Alexander. I love you so much!” they kissed then continued to look at the city.
When everyone left Magnus and Alec were both exhausted and fell asleep immediately after they finished cleaning up from their small get together. They snuggled up together and fell asleep. Magnus pulled Alec in close and snuggled his head into Alec’s neck.
Alec woke up before Magnus and went to the kitchen to make coffee for him and Magnus. When the coffee was done, he went to the balcony to get some air. As he sat there and watched birds flying by and listening to the sounds of New York. He heard someone coming up behind him. He turned around and saw it was Magnus. A smile instantly came on his face. They held hands and sat there just having the company of each other and Chairman Meow sometimes snuggling up on their laps. They looked into each other’s eyes with love and passion. They kissed, held hands, hugged and cuddled for the rest of the day on the balcony. Everything was perfect.
