Chapter 11

Once their first dance was done, Alec sat down and Magnus told everyone to come and dance. They were dancing for about two hours until it was time for the best man speeches and to cut the cake. They decided to do the same thing with the vows, Magnus would translate for Alec. Again, Magnus started. “Thank you all for your support, your love, and care. We have not had the easiest of time but we couldn’t have made it here without all of you. You all helped is to get to this point in some way and we appreciate all of you. We love each and every one of you! Thank you for coming to celebrate this magical day with us!” Alec started to sign, “Not only has Magnus been there for me, but you all helped me stay strong and you all helped me get here with my husband now! I love you all so much! I couldn’t ask for any other group of wonderful people, I like to call my family.” As everyone clapped, Magnus interrupted. “I just want to add something before we continue. Alexander, you can’t even imagine how proud you have made me. The night of your accident and during all of your seizures, I thought I lost you, I wasn’t ready to let you go, so I stayed with you because deep down, I knew that you would wake up and we would be together again. I used to talk to you about our future, and I actually talked to you about our wedding day, and might I add, it is a hundred times better than I had expected. When you first woke up, I fell in love with you all over again. I fell in love with you each time you stood up, when you took your first step, the happiness that was plastered on your face for the rest of the day, made me feel that nothing in this world or in any world can keep us apart, not even speech or mobility, and especially not a coma. Today, you have made me the happiest man in the world, and not just because we are now married, but you walked six steps, that was the most you have ever done and you also spoke. Your first words were ‘I do.’ Your first words were you agreeing to marry me. I love you so much Alexander!” At this point Alec had tears streaming down his face. As soon as Magnus finished Alec went in to kiss him and tried to speak again, but nothing happened so he just replied with “I love you more Magnus!”
Now it was time for the best man speeches. As Raphael stood up, there was a wave of claps and cheers. He cleared his throat and turned to Magnus and Alec, “I don’t even know how to tell you both how happy I am you. I have known you for a long time now Magnus and I know that you have been looking for your soulmate for a long time now, nothing makes me happier than to know that you finally found him. You have always been like a father to me. You have helped me when I need it and you helped me become the man I am today. I know you two are perfect for each other. Alec, I may not know you as well as I do Magnus, but what I do know is that you love and care for him. You are the type of man he deserves. You make him happy. I am so incredibly happy for both of you! Congratulations!” As he was about to sit down, he was pulled in between Magnus and Alec for a huge hug. They laughed and Raphael went to sit down. Jace now stood up beside Alec and said, “Nothing in this world can ever split you two apart. You have defied all odds, the Clave, the accident, and everyone who has ever been against you both being together. I have been your Parabati for a long time now Alec and I know that you truly love Magnus, and the moment you met him, you were happier. Let me tell you Magnus, I can feel all of his emotions, and sometimes certain emotions like hate, and anger come and go, but his love for you, has never left since the day you met at your party. That feeling has never left him. You truly make him happy, so thank you for that. He can now be who he really is. I am so happy for you both! Congratulations!” Alec’s face went a bright shade of pink as he held onto Magnus’ hand. Alec pulled Jace to Magnus and him and gave him a huge hug. Isabelle then stood up to make a toast. “To Magnus and Alec… Malec!” Izzy fell over laughing, and so did everyone else in the room, including Magnus and Alec.
Magnus stood up and pulled Alec up with him and helped him walk over to where the gigantic cake was. With Magnus still holding onto Alec with one arm, they each took one arm and held the knife together and cut a huge piece of cake. The photographer that had been taking pictures all night came over to get some more. The videographer that Izzy hired followed to record everything. Magnus then put his finger in some of the icing and put it on Alec’s nose and laughed. Alec laughed and did the same. The cake was distributed and when people finished eating, they all went back to the dance floor. Alec got Magnus’ attention and asked “Do you want to dance?” Magnus’ face lit up and quickly picked Alec up and carried him to the dance floor. He helped him sway from side to side. Usually, Magnus would be slaying the dance floor, but he was much happier slow dancing with his husband to a faster song. They stayed there dancing until Magnus felt Alec start to lose his balance. He called Jace and he quickly came with his chair. Alec sat down and took a deep breath. Magnus knelt down to meet Alec’s lips, and they kissed until Maryse and Robert came over to talk to them.
