I tore off my tie and button down shirt, and threw it onto the floor.
I couldn't believe it...
I wrapped my chest in bandages, put on a band tee, and then a leather jacket.
I had to leave home...
I put my guitar in its soft case, and swung it over my shoulders.
I really had to leave home...
I shoved my phone in my pocket, along with about $30, earphones, gum, a lighter and a packet of cigarettes.
I had to start over...
I pulled on a beanie and took a deep breath.
This was it...
I swung open the door and began walking out towards hallway, with my guitar on my shoulder.
This was how I'd live my life alone.
~~|~~
I walked straight past my family... I could feel their eyes watching me closely.
I didn't make eye contact with any of them...
I walked straight to Josh, who was standing with Tyler at the front door. He had his backpack and drumsticks.
This was really happening...
"Ready?" Josh asked, his voice low.
I didn't say anything, instead I simply nodded.
"Let's go." He whispered, before opening the door and leading Tyler and I out.
And then the sobering reality hit me... I had no place to call home...
~~|~~Tyler lead us into his car, Josh and I sitting in the backseats.
It was quiet at first... No one spoke... It was just the rumble of the car engine, as Tyler pulled out of the driveway.
Soon we were out on the road, driving further and further away from that place...
Josh perked up all of a sudden, "Ty?" He started.
"Yeah?" Tyler answered, keeping his eyes on the road.
"Can Frank stay the night at your place?" Josh said, looking at me lovingly.
Tyler nodded, "Of course."
I didn't deserve this much love...
