**Frank's POV**

The taxi pulled up along the side of the road.

I swung open the door and ran, despite my mom still needing to tip the driver.

"God dammit, Frank." I heard from the car, followed by the sounds of my mom rushing to my side.

We walked across the road and through Times Square, on some sort of quest for the red staircase.

I looked up at my mother who was smiling and shaking her head, "Do you even know where you're going?" She asked, patting my back twice.

"The red staircase." I said, feeling quite proud of myself for remembering.

But my glory was short lived, as my mom had another question,

"Do you know where that is?"

I hesitated for a moment.

"New York?"

My mom smiled, "No shit,"

My face flushed pink and I began to giggle mischievously.

Just when I thought I had won this smartass war, mom asked me yet another fucking question.

"Do you know where on the staircase your new roommate is waiting, Frank?"

ah fuhk.

"...no." I mumbled, burying my face in my glove adorned hands, to hide the smile that was growing on my face.

"Well I'd say that's him there."

I shot my head up and the crowd of people seemed to have split perfectly, as I made direct eye contact with a young man, who was standing sassily on the 2nd step.

It was Miles. It was definitely Miles.

The boy waved and smiled, signalling my mother and I to come over.

"Come on, that's him!" I squealed, dashing through the citizens.

"Frank slow down!" My mom wailed. But as usual, I ignored her and kept running.

The boy's smile grew brighter and bigger as he saw the excitement on my face.

He opened his arms and caught me in his embrace, as I dramatically crashed into him.

"Hey Frank." He said calmly, pulling me into a proper hug.

His arms were so... welcoming. I felt incredibly safe in them. I felt something else too, something I had never felt like this... empathy.

"You've been through a lot, man. You're finally here, and before you know it, you'll be on your way back home with the body you want. I promise."

He gently pulled away from the hug, giving me a warm smile.

"I-" I tried finding words but I couldn't.

So many feelings and thoughts rushed in and out of my head. Holy shit.

I felt my mom's hand on my shoulder.

I looked up and saw a smile grow on Miles' face, "You must be Frank's mom." He said as he learnt forward to shake my mom's hand.

"Hello Miles." She said, chuckling a little.

I shook my head, was this a dream?

No, this couldn't be a dream. It felt all so real... but all so fake.

"Have you two had lunch yet?"

My mother and I both shook our heads, exchanging hungry glances.

Miles smiled again, "Taco Bell, anyone?"

I jumped forward, "YES PLEASE!" I screamed excitedly, slightly terrifying the nearby pedestrians.

"There's one 15 minutes from here, we can take my car."

This was a fucking dream.

"Thank you." I said after calming down.

"No problem, Frank."

All three of us headed towards Miles' car, which was layered in snow.

Miles was first inside, followed by my mother and I.

He pulled out a CD from seemingly nowhere.

"Do you guys like Green Day?"
