They labeled him a hopeless case from the beginning,
I labeled him a survivor formed in the pit of the deprived and forgotten,
When they saw his scars, they looked away, stealing pitting glances.
As I gazed at his wrist, I didn't look away or plague him with pity,
They labeled him a star, never to be anything less,
When I saw his trophies and awards I paid him only pity, never envy,
He shined so bright, trying to show him the light,
He spread his inky darkness, trying to prove it was fine,
As the darkness met the blinding light, their sight was awash with color,
The star painted his nails black,
The hopeless painted his hair blue,
As I watched the hopeless forged from the deprived and forgotten, and the star that was created to be nothing else, walk down the hall hand-in-hand, I knew I could never gaze through black and white again,
He was his star, he was his darkness, together they created a beautiful sight.***
I was going to say they created a rainbow but nah, can't be too obvious right.
Kisses :)
