Chapter 7 ----- Safe, For Now

It has been about two months since I trespassed on Ian's territory, and since he had let me stay here. I was mostly in my room but I would go out for runs in Ian's land, and every time I was out for a run I would never see anyone. Sometimes I wondered if I was still in his land or if the pack members were always in their houses.

Ian was at one of his meetings today with a few pack members like Trevor and his third in command, who I haven't met yet. So I asked Nekkoette if we could go and do something today but she said that she was busy, so I just decided to go on a longer run, alone, again.

I had been running for about five minutes when all of a sudden there was a tremendous pain in my ribs. I instantly fell to the ground, I wasn't entirely sure where I was but I had to either get up and head back to the pack house or call for someone to come and help me out. I really didn't want to seem weak, and I couldn't call anyone because I had left my new phone in my room. So I would just have to deal with the pain and when I would get back I would go and see if the pack doctor could see if anything was wrong.

It had taken me about seventeen minutes to get back. It had taken that long because with every step it felt like someone was reaching inside of me and ripping everything out. When the pack house was in view I had collapsed, I was awake but I couldn't move the pain was so bad I felt like I was slowly dying.

Before I had collapsed it was just after mid-day, now it was almost dark. The pain was still there but I had now started coughing up blood. I was still in my wolf form and I knew that if I were to shift back the pain would be way worse. 

After coughing up blood for a couple of minutes it stopped, and now all I could do was whimper, the pain was getting worse by the second. The more the pain the more I whimpered, and my whimpering was only getting louder and louder. That was until I heard someone nearby, they were talking to someone and I could tell they were bot males. 

I had used most of the energy I had left to let out the most painful sounding bark that I could. Both men stopped talking and looked my way, one of the men had started running toward me and yelled at the other man to go and get the pack doctor. By the time the man got to me I could tell that it was Ian. It was difficult to see very much with my eyes being so watery, but I couldn't seem to cry. 

"Hey, it's ok it's me. Shhh, don't use up all of your energy."--Ian said as I tried to slow down my breathing.

I had drifted off into a deep sleep before the doctor got here. The only thing that I could hear before that was Ian crying but yelling at me no to leave him.

Then everything was dark, the pain was gone but there was only darkness. The darkness was everywhere, it was consuming me. 

Then there was nothing. No light. No darkness. Just nothing.

"Will she be alright."-- I asked the doctor

"I'm honestly not sure I've never seen anything like this."--The doctor told me looking concerned.

"What do you mean by that." I asked confused

"What I mean is that she has lost a lot of blood, from coughing it up, and she looks like she is in a lot of pain. Her heart rate is constantly changing, it is either above average or below it. Plus she is in a coma and-" The doctor said but I cut him off

"Wait she is in a coma, how is that even possible." I said starting to raise my voice.

"A coma is state of deep unconsciousness that lasts for a prolonged or indefinite period, caused especially by severe injury or illness, so she is either ill or injured or a little bit of both. I'm still not sure." Doctor

"Do you know when she will wake up." Ian

"I'm not sure, some coma's can last long periods of time and some are shorter." Doctor

"I see. Have you ever seen anyone else like this." Ian

"I have-" He said with a pause. "They- er she had run away from her mate. He was furious, and being an alpha gave him more reason to be angry. So he had somehow managed to put his mate through life threatening pain. She had died from all of the pain within a couple of days."

"That can't be the reason, I mean she doesn't have a mate- I think..." I said starting out angry then trailing off.

"There is no other reason, that has to be the reason. With her being in a coma means she has no pain at the moment, and that her body is trying to recover." He said

"I see. *inhales* I'll have Trevor bring in a couple more blankets and some other things. I'll stay here for now." I told the doctor

"Alright just make sure you are still on alert. Alpha Aaron has been sending small groups of wolves, and only a couple of our wolves have been injured." The doctor told me.

"I know. With the war coming up, this just makes things more stressful." Ian

"If you don't mind me asking, do you like her as in more then a friendship." The doctor asked

"I-I think I do." I told him while looking over Fay
