Warriors: Moonstar's Destiny

Chapter Two

Moonkit woke up excited. Today was her apprentice ceremony! She scampered out of the nursery and waited as Flamestar came out on Highrock.

"There are five kits that has reached their sixth moon. Moonkit, Brownkit, Bluekit, Sunkit, and Gingerkit! Come up please. Moonkit, from now on until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Moonpaw. Dragonwhisp, you are ready for an apprentice. I know you will pass on all your hunting and fighting skills to Moonpaw and teach her the skills that will make her a brave warrior of ThunderClan. Brownkit, from now on until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Brownpaw. Lionclaw, I know that you will pass on your excellent fighting skills to Brownpaw and teach him the skills that will make him a warrior of ThunderClan. "Moonpaw, Moonpaw! Brownpaw, Brownpaw! Bluepaw, Bluepaw! Sunpaw, Sunpaw! Gingerpaw, Gingerpaw!" the crowd meowed.

"There are two apprentices ready to become warriors. Birchpaw and Hazelpaw! Please come up please! Jaystrike, is Birchpaw ready to become a warrior?" meowed Flamestar.

"Birchpaw was born ready," replied Jaystrike.

"Redthorn, is Hazelpaw ready to become a warrior?" asked Flamestar?

"Yes, Flamestar," replied Redthorn.

"I, Flamestar, leader of ThunderClan call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these apprentices. They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to be a warrior in turn. Birchpaw and Hazelpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and protect and defend the clan even at the cost of your life?" Flamestar asked.

"I do," replied Birchpaw.

"I do," replied Hazelpaw.

"then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior names. Birchpaw, from this moment on, you will be known as Birchclaw. StarClan honors your fighting skills and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan. Hazelpaw,from this moment on you will be known as Hazelpelt. StarClan honors your bravery and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan." meowed Flamestar.

"Birchclaw, Birchclaw! Hazelpelt, Hazelpelt!" the clan yowled.

"In honor of becoming a warrior, Birchclaw and Hazelpelt will sit vigil for the clan," Flamestar meowed and then jumped off Highrock.

"Hey, Moonpaw! Let's get nests together!" meowed Sunpaw.

"Okay!" meowed Moonpaw. She padded over to the apprentices' den and curled up in the nest next to Sunpaw. As she was falling asleep she saw Bluepaw staring at her with jealousy.

What's wrong with her? wondered Moonpaw. She soon fell asleep. When she opened her eyes, she knew she was not in ThunderClan.

"Don't worry Moonpaw. You're in StarClan." said a cat who appeared out of nowhere.

"Who are you?" Moonpaw asked.

"I am Redstar, the old ThunderClan leader. Listen carefully Moonpaw. Darkness will come from the tiger's fang. Beware of the blue's claws. Moonpaw, you are the chosen one. You will save ThunderClan because your destiny is great," Redstar meowed and he started fading away.

"Wait! Don't leave!" wailed Moonpaw.

"Remember the prophecy and don't tell anyone about it," whispered Redstar.
