Wake up." I heard them say softly. They slapped my face. I was laying on course...wet sand...sand...I was on the shore. I wasn't in the ocean.
'Good, so not dead'
"Luke, wake up." They said shaking my arm.
'How could they know my name?'
I fluttered my eyes open and took long deep breaths.
"Oh my god Luke." They said in relief, hearing me gasp for air. Sitting up, I stared at the blue, blue, blue ocean. I blinked and relized that blue ocean was blue eyes: Silva's blue eyes. I looked deeper into her eyes. I could've found the meaning of life.
"Why don't you take a picture," she huffed, interrupting my trance. "the moment will last longer."
I immediately jumped back. Red, hot, and embarrassed, I held my breath.
"Luke," Silva said putting her long wet hair in a ponytail.
"Are you alright, you just kinda went under water." She said casually as if me drowning was the norm.
"Wha-I drowned, I wasn't able to swim..." I said brushing the wet hair out of my face.
"Well I swam and saved you." She said standing up.
I noticed we were hidden in a small cove near our little party.
"The party ended and everyone went home." Silva said extending her arm towards me.
"How long was I out for?" I asked taking her hand. She was pretty strong and pulled me up, almost throwing me over her shoulder.
"About thirty minutes. Everyone got home safely," she said muttering. "even Opal." Silva said walking towards the beach. I followed.
'At least she's safe.'
"Hey," I said grabbing her arm. She softly gasped, turning to me.
"Thank you, for saving my life." I said slightly smiling.
Silva grinned
"It's my duty to protect and save your ass." She snorted laughing.
I rolled my eyes, trying to hide my grin.
"Think you can make it home?" She asked crossing her arms.
I nodded.
"I'm pretty lucid." I said walking next to her.
She kept that mischievous grin on. We walked in silence for twenty minutes until we approached my home.
"Looks cozy." Silva said softly.
"Well, good bye fish boy." She chuckled patting my back. She turned and started to walk down the side walk.
"Hey," I said loudly. She stopped.
"we should hang sometime." I said with a feeling of hope.
She flashes me a smile.
"Maybe we'll bump into each other soon." She responded and left.
"I hope..." I whispered and walked up the porch steps and entered my house.
On the sofa was Sophia. She was passed out and snuggled with a blanket.
I could hear my father upstairs, his snores could wake the whole ocean.
I continued to walk upstairs passing by old pictures of Sophia and me as babies. I saw pictures of my father holding me as a new born. Great joy shined in his smile. Oddly, I could also see great sadness too. He looked like he lost someone.
Above that one was a picture of my mother and father sitting on the sofa together. I was asleep and my mother held me closely.
She was beautiful. I never got the chance to bond with her. I don't remember her.
I continued walking and made it to my room. I took off my clothes and changed into plain boxers.
Pain and overall misery filled my head and I cried loudly. Blurry vision and unable to control my walking, I collapsed onto my bed, blacked out.
~~~~~~~
I felt nothing...I was alone. They left me. Darkness enclosed on me. Hearing a voice lull me to sleep. It sounded like a memory I once knew.
