{..................Tris's POV..................}

-Still in fear landscape flashback-

Waking up in Uriah’s eighth and final fear, I took a look around at my surroundings. We were stood in a long darkened corridor; the only light available being the thin strips coming through the cracks in the frame of a very familiar door, right down at the other end of the hallway.

We were in the dauntless compound, or at least in some form of it anyways.

I knew it was dauntless from the way the corridors were bare, and the lighting minimal. There were also dauntless symbols printed in a shiny black colour on the few doors that were a little bit further down the hall. From the layout, it looks as though we we’re in the main corridor leading on into the pit, but why? Why were we here?  If I hadn’t have recognised where we were through observation, I could have just easily have used one of my other senses, how about smell? - Because this corridor absolutely reeked of dauntless. For those of you that don’t know what that smells like, it’s mainly just sweat, blood and dauntless cake.

I really didn’t understand what this had to do with one of Uriah’s fears. What was it, a fear of long corridors?

I could hear cheering coming from somewhere behind the closed door. There must be something going on that I don’t know about, because this situation is getting just a little bit weird right now. Biting the bullet, I decided to ask him.

“Ummmmmmm Uriah?” I asked awkwardly, rocking back and forth on the balls of my feet.

“Yep” he replied, popping the ‘p’.

“Do you want to explain what this is?” I coaxed, hoping he wouldn’t refuse to tell me yet again. It worked out so well for us last time; and by so well, I mean we became shark food.

“Not really” he put back, finding the smooth tiles we were stood on, suddenly quite interesting.

“That wasn’t a question” I replied, sweetly but seriously at the same time.

His head snapped up and his eyes met mine directly. They showed both anger and anticipation; I think he was just hoping to get this over with so we could go back to the guys, who were probably still locked in the dorm room.

“It certainly sounded like a question to me so I gave you an answer” he snapped. This took me by surprise. He never normally got so angry. I hated the fact that I was the one who was putting him into this mood, but I also hated the fact he was refusing to tell me anything.

“What is your problem, eh? Why can’t you just tell me what this damn fear is? I don’t know if you’ve noticed but we’re in this together; I’m going to find out eventually whether you want me too or not. Just like I found out about about the shark, the watermelon and all the other fucking fears I was forced to face with you. You’ve been all right though haven’t you? You’ve known exactly what fear was next and what it entailed whereas I…I was left in the dark.”

‘’I just can’t tell you”

“But why not?” I pushed.

“Look, I just can’t okay, so just accept it and shut the fuck up will you!” he hissed at me and I knew he was so close to breaking point, so I continued to pressure him.
