Don't bring me down with you

My parents paced the room, the sounds of the footsteps being too unbearable as i opened my eyes. The struggle of it all only making me want to give up.

I looked around the room, the lights being too bright as i squinted. My father had patted my moms arm. She gasped as she looked to me, she ran to my beside.

Her hand grabbing mine, "Oh honey."

"What happened?" I asked.

"Let's not worry about that now. All that matters is you're okay." She pressed a kiss to my forehead.

She ran outside. I looked over to my father, his eyes on me as he held the magazine in his hand still. A smile on his face, "Glad you're awake kiddo."

"What happened? Did i have my surgery?"

He nodded, "You did. All the mass has been removed. We just have to wait to see if they have got it all."

The doctor rushed in with my mom, his footsteps fast paced as he checked my vitals. He asked questions, all too fast paced for me to understand but i answered with ease.

Days had passed since the surgery, i was going through the testing. I was healing nicely and doing what i should have been doing.

The doctors constantly tested my blood work, taking the extra precautions to make sure everything was normal.

The group therapy had always managed to stop by and make sure i was apart of everything. They made sure i knew how much i was missed, something i was hopefully for since my girlfriend had went home.

The days had passed by so slowly, but within three days the tests had came back. In just a few short hours, i would find out everything.

The doctor had gave me the okay to go home, all the tests had been passed. I was cancer free, i was able to live my life the way it was before.

I had my freedom back.

Months had passed, i had gone home. I had tested cancer free. I had stayed in contact with Lynn. Facetime, phone calls, and texts.

Lynn, Alex, and Brian had formed a band, one that had been signed to a famous record label. They had been touring, meeting new fans and people. Different cities and places.

I had stayed in contact with Lynn over the past five months, in just a short few weeks she would be coming to see me. We would finally be together again for three days as they toured this small town again in North Carolina.

I was finally gonna see my girlfriend again.

I stood at the fence as i waited for the it to open, for the moment that i would see Lynn again. I would see my three best friends.

I saw Lynn's messy bun, one that had been dyed to a blonde now. She still looked the same as always. Her smile still sending shivers down my spine.

"Miller!" She shouted, she took off running towards me.

Her hands stretched towards me as she picked me up off the ground, her hands at lower my back as she pressed her lips into mine.

She held me closer spinning me around. Her laughter filling my ear drums as she placed me back down to the ground, her hand grabbing mine.

She lead me inside the house, Brian and Alex at the doorway as they both gave me a hug. Both of them still the same. Everything coming together and like old times as we all sat and talked.
