After talking with Theo I had a lot on my mind. Rylan likes me. His family approves of Emmie and I. I just don't think I would be good enough for him. I decided to just let things go for the day seeing as I had a big day today. Mallory and I were going shopping for the decorations for the gala that was now just a week away and we were also going shopping for our dresses.

"Elizabeth, I cannot thank you enough for all your help."

"No need to thank me. I was glad I could help out. It has always been a dream of mine to help out with an event or at least attend one."

"I wanted to talk to you about something."

Oh no. It's something bad. It has to be.

"Okay." I said slowly.

"Don't worry. It is not anything bad. I just wanted to know if you were okay with me putting your name on fundraiser brochures and the scholarship?"

"What?" my mouth dropped open.

"Elizabeth. You are a very smart woman and honestly without your input on how single mothers struggle this event would not have been anywhere near as good as it is going to be. I want to give you credit and put your name out there, but only if you are comfortable with it."

"Oh my god. Yes, absolutely!" I hugged her.

"I also need to talk to you about one more itty bitty thing. For the fundraiser some of the heads of the committee want to do an auction sort of thing. Except they want to auction off dates. Would you be willing to be a woman to be auctioned? I know you don't want to actually date, but we have guidelines set so that you feel comfortable."

"If it is for the fundraiser, I would love to."

"You are too sweet dear."

"Is Emmie still allowed to attend?"

"She is. We have hired a nanny for the night. Though she will be with us most of the night, once the auction begins we will need someone to watch her. Do not worry. We did extensive background checks on all nannies who applied for the job and your daughter will be in safe hands."

"That is wonderful. So are you ready to shop?"

"Yes. I was thinking we could do dresses first. I want us to find the perfect ones."

"Dress shopping first it is."

Just then Rylan came into the living room.

"Where are you ladies headed?"

"We are going dress shopping Rylan. Momma said we are going to get all dolled up and pretty for the fundraiser next week."

Rylan bent down so he was level with Emmie.

"Emmie, you and your other are already pretty."

I blushed and Emmie laughed.

"Real smooth Rylan." Emmie said.

"Emmie!"

She just laughed and went to say goodbye to Harrison.

"So how long will you be out shopping?"

"I am not sure. A few hours at the least. We have to get dresses, shoes, and then go shopping for the decorations for the tables and all. It could take a while." I told him.

"Well have fun. Elizabeth can I talk to you for a moment before you go?"

"Of course."

We walked into the living room and sat down.

"Rylan what's going on?"

"I, um, I wanted to ask if you would be my date to the fundraiser?"

"Are you absolutely sure?"
