Chapter Sixteen

Rylan's Point Of View

I stood there staring at the woman I never wanted to see ever again.

"Erica, what are you doing here?" I asked in a annoyed voice.

"I want to see my boyfriend obviously."

I looked over at Elizabeth and her face fell. I had to set the record straight before she thought the worst, if she isn't thinking it already.

"Erica, I am not your boyfriend. I haven't been for a long time. Not after what you did. Leave."

Erica looked past me and saw Elizabeth.

"Oh, I see. You found a little side piece while I was gone. Honey, you can leave now. Your services aren't need anymore."

I clenched my jaw and balled my fists. I was getting pissed.

"Erica. She is not a side piece. You don't get to come in here and put yourself in my life anymore. Leave before I call security."

Emmie came running to me.

"Ry Ry, will you tuck me in bed tonight?"

I got down to her level.

"Of course I will sweetheart. Give me one moment and go to mommy."

I stood up and Erica had the look of fire in her eyes.

"You have a family? You cheated on me and got some slut pregnant" She yelled.

"Excuse me! Do not call her a slut and you cannot say one damn thing! You stole a lot of important information from my company and gave it to competitors and slept with my brother. I ended the relationship then. Now leave, you are not welcome here."

"I will not leave until you talk to me."

I was growing impatient and irritated with her. I looked over at Elizabeth and she had this devious smirk on her face. I watched her as she switched a ring from one of her fingers to her ring finger. I was confused for a second then caught on. I smiled. Elizabeth walked over to me and wrapped her arms around my neck. It felt so good that it gave me goosebumps.

"Whatever you need to talk to him about can be said with me around. I mean, I am going to be Mrs. Masters soon."

"YOU'RE MARRYING HER?!" Erica shouted and I smiled.

Erica looked pissed.

"So, Erica was it? What do you need to talk to my fiance about?"

"Your fiance and I have unfinished business and it is personal."

"Well if I am not around then you will not talk to him."

Erica huffed. I was liking this confident Elizabeth.

"Well when will he have time to talk?"

"I am not sure. We are going on a vacation pretty soon. Don't really know when we will be back."

Erica looked at me and I was still smiling.

"Rylan, don't you remember all those plans we made? We were going to get married and start a family. We were going to be great together."

"That was in a time when I was blinded by my love for you and that went out the window the moment I caught you in bed with my brother."

"So this is it?"

"This is. Do not come here or to my office or my apartment. I have moved on and you should too."

"I am not convinced that you two are together." Erica smirked.

Elizabeth showed her hand to Erica and her eyes widened. Then she caught me off guard. Elizabeth grabbed my face and kissed me. A rough yet gentle kiss. I loved it. She pulled away and I just stared at her.

"Fine. No need to rub it in." Erica said then walked off.

I shut the door and turned to Elizabeth.

"Thank you."

"It honestly was no problem at all. She was irritating me and she used bad language in front of my daughter."

I walked over and picked Emmie up. 

"Let's get to bed, what do you say Mrs. Masters?" I said and I loved how it came off my tongue. Elizabeth smiled wide and we walked upstairs together. It was in that moment that I knew that I could be with her forever and be happy.

Elizabeth's Point OF View

I walked to my room with Rylan silently after putting Emmie in bed. After what unfolded with Rylan's ex I was tired. I still could not believe that Theo slept with his brothers girlfriend. I mean, I get that she is super gorgeous, but she is a horrible person. Just meeting her for that short period of time, I could already tell she was not a nice person. We stopped in front of my bedroom door.

"Elizabeth, I wanted to say thank you again. You really helped me out."

"Rylan, you don't need to thank me. I did not really like her. I did not like how she spoke in front of Emmie and I really did not like how she talked to you."

"Really?" He rose an eyebrow.

"No. You don't deserve to be treated like that. Especially after what she did to you. I am sorry that happened by the way."

"I am sorry it just slipped out like that. I was going to tell you about my past, but I wanted to wait a little bit. What happened to me is nothing in comparison to what is happening to you."

"Me and all my stupid drama." I said.

"I don't mind it one bit. Now I have drama too. If I am being completely honest, I do not expect Erica to go away so easily. She can be very determined."

"I didn't think she would really give up that easily."

"She won't and I want us to be prepared for everything she will throw our way."

"I will be here with you the whole way." I said and I meant it. It got silent and so I quickly told him goodnight and turned to go in my room, but he grabbed my wrist and spun me around. He pulled me closer to him and put his forehead to mine.

"I really liked that kiss earlier." He said and I blushed and looked down feeling embarrassed by how I just decided to kiss him. He lifted my head up. He had this look of desire in his eye. 

"Rylan, I am sorry for just putting it on you like that."

"Don't apologize. I really liked that kiss and I really really want it to happen again." 

When he said that my breath hitched. He wanted to kiss me again. I thought he would be angry with me.

"What?" I whispered.

"I want to kiss you again." He said slowly.

"Then kiss me." I whispered to him and he leaned in and our lips connected. It was a slow, warm kiss and I loved it. He backed me up to the door and pushed me against it. After a few minutes he pulled away.

"I want to take you in that room and show you exactly how you make me feel, but I want to wait. I want to wait until you want to and the time is perfect." 

I was shocked by what he said. He wanted me? It was really hard to believe. I just nodded to let him know that I understood.

"The gala is in a few days. I can't wait to see your dress." 

"I think you will really like it."

"I bet I will. Goodnight Elizabeth. Sleep tight."

"You too Rylan." I kissed his cheek and walked into my room then closed the door. I went and fell on the bed. I touched my lips. I love that kiss. I want him to keep kissing me for the rest of my life. I closed my eyes and fell asleep with a smile on my face.
